Can't download the game Thread - Vector Thrust

I'm not sure if this is a problem with VectorThrust or with Desura, but I'm unable to successfully download and install this game. When I try to download the game the process stops close to the end with the message "All server connections failed." Here's the console log from the attempt:

There seems to have been a bunch of CRC errors before the download stopped.

I also tried downloading the .zip file and installing it manually, but when I extracted its contents to Desura\Common and ran the output\release\VectorThrust.exe file I get an error stating that "The application has failed to start because its side-by-side configuration is incorrect."

Is there a problem with the current version of the on-server files for this game?

EDIT: Never mind. I made another attempt and was able to download the game (I'd tried a few times over two days, leading me to believe it was more than a temporary server issue.) I'm now getting the "Failed to launch 6" error described in the "Can't launch game" thread (I've already updated my Visual C++ Redistributable to the one suggested but it didn't solve the problem.) I'll keep an eye on that thread for updates.

No, it downloads fine now, I just can't run it. As I mentioned in my edit, I'm getting "Failed to launch 6" error now. When I try to run the game directly from Explorer I'm getting the side-by-side error.

If it is the side-by-side issue just install this update:
Microsoft.com

As I mentioned in my edit, I've already done that but it didn't help.
