The R-311 Remora from Ace Combat 3 Electrosphere. It contains two skins: Neucom Emergency Unit and Cynthia's R-311C. In the future I might make a fictional version with rocket boosters just because I have free room in the texture sheet.
This is great! If all AC3 aircrafts will be in VT, we can create remake of original campaings. It's old dream for all Electrosphere fans!
No idea how to incorporate a Decision Point system though.
well, I guess it's time to make a bullet texture.
Or FEISAR.
Wait, wouldn't AG fit this better?
Yeah.
AG Systems.
No wait, Piranha! aaaaaaagh
It's fast, and bears like the same exact shape of Piranha HD, so, yeah. Expect Piranha.
That's what I'm thinking of at first.
Piranha is literally this. Especially in Wipeout 2097.
this fraeking thing?

Yes, that one exactly
yeah, it'd bloody overpowered, that thing.
10-10-10-10.
No weapons doesn't even seem like it'd matter.
Looks like you forgot to set the max altitude ceiling for such a stratospheric fighter. It's still stuck at the default 18000-ish from what I saw.
Fixed it
Whadda ya know, it actually doesn't have the camera bug like previous planes did. Have you figured out what caused it?
I used another exporter. It appears to be more limited regarding animations in some sense, but it works fine for planes with regular animations.
Will you update your previous work with new exporter?
BTW, I have a lot of fun in this plane. However, should it be less maneuverable? What I remember in AC3 this is the hardest plane to steer.
Dunno, the problem with my previous work is that Wheaton set them up for VT, I just modelled them, so I'd have to ask him for the files.
The Remora has a very short wing span, which means it has a very low moment of inertia in banking i.e. it banks fast. On the pitch that doesn't happen as much, but it's still pretty effective at high speeds. I did do a thing that wasn't in AC3 which is I added RCS (reaction control system) to the plane. You can notice it by the little black holes scattered around the ends of the fuselage and wingtips. It serves to increase maneuverability at high altitudes, where the control surfaces have little effect.
Are you using EasyOgreExporter?
For some reason it always crashes my 3DS Max anytime I try to export a skinned model. :\
I did use it. It exported perfectly fine. Maybe your version of 3ds max isn't compatible with it?
If the 3DS Max 2009 isn't compatible it wouldn't able to export any model either, but maybe I'll try using another version next time.
Are you sure you're setting up the skins correctly? Making all bones relative, rigid and linking them to the main bone?
I did, and I've completely followed the animation tutorial even.
