Hello friends! 3DrunkMen are extremely excited to be releasing the release candidate of VANISH for Windows and Mac today, with the Linux version soon to come! What does release candidate mean? It means this is basically the final version of VANISH, not much will change other than any bugs that need to be fixed. We want to thank you all for downloading and playing VANISH, making videos, and becoming our friends!

Check our new website for more info on us, the game, and VANISH FAQs.

Sorry to be a bother mates but, When i start the game and select my brightness, the textures are black. I can still see the menus and the game runs fast, but there are no textures. Even after i started the game, everything remained black. My resolution is 1024x768 and i run the game in fill screen. If you can help it's be much appreciated.
Sincerely,
Some idiot who likes games.

Hi YroSyK! We're sorry you're having a problem with our game, it sounds like...

VANISH requires a DirectX 9c+ compatible graphics card. Please make sure that have the latest drivers for your graphics card. If the issue still persist, you may need a hardware upgrade.

If you experience any other issues, check our FAQs on vanishgame.com, if you can't find a solution, email us at 3DrunkMen@gmail.com

I like the new sounds and monster textures, but I also liked the old ones. Maybe include the music/textures from both versions in the game and randomize it a bit. For example, the menu music could be different each time, randomly swapping between the new one and the 0.2 one. The monster textures could vary between encounters. It could make the game feel more different each time you play it. Again, amazing game, don't take my nitpicks too seriously.

When I start the game, it thinks my resolution is 3840x1080 (two monitors with each 1920x1080), yet uses only one monitor, meaning I'm seeing only the left half...
I tried launching with "./VANISH.x86 -screen-width 1920 -screen-height 1080" but that didn't help either.

Any idea?

Alright, I somehow managed to fix it... not sure how though. But it's running now, so whatever. :)

Interesting, we'll look into and see if we can replicate it. I've never seen that happen before, but glad it's working now!

It's reproducible for me when I remove the ~/.config/unity3d/3DrunkMen/Vanish/prefs file. Also, a new one doesn't get generated as soon as I start the game, otherwise I could've just edit it there (probably because I had to kill the game with ^C since I couldn't click any buttons).
BTW, the _resolution setting in the prefs file gets reset to 0 every time I start, then I get 640x480 stretched to fit in 1920x1080 fullscreen unless I change it back to 1920x1080 before I get in the tunnels.

Hey guys,

Thanks for this great horror game.
I love to crawl into the darkness and that every sound crap my pants. But I think the Monsters are to "weak" - to easy to sneak by, in my opinion.

Waste 10 min. of your Time, to see how I beat the game :)

Also apologize for my bad english, german moron tries to write here.

This game never ceases to scare me senseless. I cannot compliment you enough on how creepy this game is. Really great atmosphere and the sound effects are just downright eerie. Thanks again for making this sweet game.
P.S. I did record my playthrough of it. If anybody wants to check it out, here's the link. Youtube.com
