Alpha v0.2a

Hello gamers! 3DrunkMen have watched your videos, read your emails, gotten your feedback and have released Vanish Alpha 0.2a! Thrown into a labyrinth for reasons unknown, make your way through in search for an escape.

We've created a Vanish Alpha 0.1 Compilation Let's Play Playlist with all the videos we've seen. If you make one, let us know and we'll add it to the list. And if you make a new video with Alpha 0.2a, we'll add it to the new Vanish Alpha 0.2 Playlist!

Please note that the game is currently in an alpha state. Some parts may contain placeholders and/or incomplete assets, along with bugs. Check the readme file to view version updates. We invite all interested players to provide feedback and bug reports to:

There is currently a known bug that will kill the player when too close to a dead end wall. If you happen to find yourself in this position, just move away a little bit and you shouldn't die. But if you still happen to, just bear with us until the next update and try not to rage too much.
Thanks for playing!

We also don't mind any Let's Play videos. We'd love to see how our players play Vanish and we're able to spot bugs easier as well as get new ideas for future updates! Feel free to post your videos on YouTube and let us know so we can watch!
We'd appreciate it if you link back to our IndieDB page if you do!

Playlist to all my attempts with this game.

The last video shows me how I beat the game, would appreciate if anyone had a look. I have been waiting a year for a new version. Still hopeful for a new version SOON! :) Thanks & take care.

First of all, this is an amazing game! I have never played an indie horror game that terrified me that much! Here's my initial playthrough of it, in case you are interested:

Although this game is phenomenal, there were a few issues. I'm not sure if this was intentional, but things got fuzzy and your turn very slowly after you have a close encounter with the mole-rat abomination thing. It might have been showing stress and fear or something, but I thought I would mention it in case it was a glitch. Also, the screen would get very shaky at moments. Again, not sure if that was intentional or not.

I loved the fact that it was randomly generated. That made it new and fresh every time I played. At the same time, it was randomly generated AS YOU PLAYED IT. Although brilliant, I did not care for that feature. I like to learn from my mistakes and use logic to find a solution. The way it was set up made that very difficult. It also made it hard to win. That said, it did add significantly to the terror of the game. If you were ever changing it, maybe make the monster spawn at random, but give the option to have a reliable map.

My only other complaint was the ending. I haven't released the video yet, but I found the ending very unsatisfying. I will not spoil it for people who have not finished it yet, but I really think you should add a good ending to it. All the work it took to get to that point deserves a rewarding end. I would say that was the most disappointing part of the game. This is the only part of the game I was really unhappy with.

Even with those few complaints, this game is by far the best indie horror game I have ever played. it was terrifying and brilliant. Thank you so much for all your work! I look forward to playing any other games you may release!

As soon as I saw this I knew I had to play it. It has a really creepy vibe to it but it's enjoyable! :D
Gameplay here:
The monster freaked me out multiple times.

I think I found two bugs though.
This may or may not of been a bug but once the monster finds you the first time it starts to take a long time to turn left or right. The second bug was that if you stay stationary the screen starts to shake rapidly. However, this could just be a problem on my end.

I had this issue as well. I was actually just about to comment about it in my review. I wonder if it was intentional. It could have been trying to emphasize how the stress and fear was getting to the character.
