Uprising44 combines third-person action play with real-time strategy. It is a unique combination of the two modes of play, and has an in-depth and interesting story-line which has not yet been used in WWII computer games – the greatest civilian against Nazi occupying forces – the Warsaw Uprising. It is a story of the Silent Shadows - forerunners of modern day special forces - paratroopers dropped behind enemy lines to organize resistance and use diversionary tactics in the fight against the forces of the Third Reich. An appropriate audio-visual setting combined with cover system (an excellent, proven method of game play), the story-line, and diverse settings ensure a dynamic and enjoyable game not only for players familiar with this type of theme, but also those merely wanting entertainment.

50% sale

News 1 comment

We are proud to announce a very special 50% sale on UPRISING44: THE SILENT SHADOWS for this next full 4 days. This is a real bargain, go get it - time is running very short :)

Uprising 44: The Silent Shadows, created by the Polish developer DMD Enterprise, is a successful genre mix of fast-paced third-person shooter and real-time strategy combined with a story such has never been told. The setting of the dramatic story is Nazi-occupied Warsaw in 1944. Players lead a group of resistance fighters who have joined together with the Polish Home Army. The seemingly hopeless and unequal battle against the superior force of the enemy army leads players to numerous original settings, providing an authentic and nightmarish game atmosphere.

Considering this game.

Clicking thru the publisher link - Excerpt from the marketing double speak:

*************************
"The company brings together a highly motivated team of people with many years of experience in the industry that is passionate for gaming.

The business focuses on marketing and direct end customer sales of multiplayer and social games for internet and all mobile platforms as well as on the distribution of entertaining products for next gen consoles and PC. "

******************

On the comment about a highly motivated team. I see it took a month and 10 days to respond to a question. Not good.

On the global aspect, selling everything under the sun.... That's really a negative. (It's too easy to get spread too thin).

You need to focus on the CUSTOMER, their needs and wants.

You need to respond to questions promptly.
You need to post info about patches, address customers concerns.
You need to maintain "Contact" with the customer base.. touch base with them often.

Are you able to remap the key bindings?
Does it support controllers?
How many patch versions have been issued in the past year?
What is the history of these patches (What issues were addressed)
What KIND of DRM is used? to "protect' the key? Gamersgate lists it as "other".
Will it be a problem installing to another PC?
How many PC's (personal PC's) are you allowed to install it to?

What "engine" is the game using? (Useful to know if a problem is occurring)
Is there a website in which you can directly obtain patches thru? vs auto patching?
Does game have auto-patching, with the ability to:
A: Block "Auto-Patching (If game is working perfect- why patch it?)
B: Have option to let the CUSTOMER revert to a previously working install if a "patch" screws something up.

Are the config, other files "locked down"?
Is the game "MOD" friendly?

What is the address /contact info for the "support site"?

Question. Is this game DRM free or is there some sort of one off activation?

It's true as far as I can determine.

The Gamersgate version (1.01) and the Polish download version (1.03) have no key mapping or reversible Y axis.

Yeah I have to say...I have never heard of this game so when I watch a video to explain the game I want to see the game explained and gameplay. I absolutely do not in any way care about new features because I never saw the old features. You may want to rethink that.

Also, if it is true that there is no remapping and and a fixed Y axis I will never touch the game. I really don't want to be a jerk here. I'm an indie developer and I certainly know you can't please everyone but that really is a deal breaker for me.

Be warned: This game has no key remapping or the ability to reverse the Y mouse axis.

@DMD: I'm running the Gamersgate version, since there is no forum on GG, I'm posting here.

The GG version does not have key mapping or Y axis reverse, the Desura version may have.

Looks like a good game, but I can't play with WASD or normal Y axis.
