Description

This addon includes new Karma definitions for the default UT2004 ragdolls and a simple "Modified Corpses" mutator that can give ragdolls more friction with the world, as well as making them sink slowly in liquids.

No problem! I have a bit of an obsessive compulsion to fix ragdolls in whichever games I can. I might make releases for Rainbox Six 3 and Skyrim at some point, too. :)

Good job.
By the way, can you make a mutator which enables specific number (or unlimited) of ragdolls to stay ? UT slaughter just doen't work with this addon.

I'd love to do that, actually. I'm not entirely certain how difficult that might be; also, I've never heard of "slaughter." I'll have to investigate, but it's been awhile since I messed with this so I'm a bit rusty.

The name is slaughter 2004. The old link in unreal forum was down.
You can download it from UTzone: Utzone.de
That mutator enables specific number (or unlimited) of ragdolls to stay , but has some bugs and compatibility issues. .Only "old" corpse can stay pernamently after the number hit the limit(If set) while "new" ragdolls disappear . And if it's activated with your realistic ragdoll , your plugin doesn't work while it works fine. Very weird...

This is awesome. Played round with it a bit and it's a big improvement. I remember looking for something like this ages ago. Good work.

Glad you like it! :) Making ragdolls more realistic has become a bit of an obsession for me. If a game will let me into its ragdoll data, I will tweak it endlessly. Can't help my enthusiasm for physics and realism.

And 2 years later we meet on the Deadly Shadows forum. What a coincidence! Would be great if you could find out how to do it there too.

Agreed, very much so! But, alas, that investigation never panned out. The great trouble is that although Thief: Deadly Shadows uses a very similar Unreal engine, it does not use Karma physics.

To modify the Havok ragdolls in Thief would likely have required messing around with the 3D meshes for characters. Still a possibility; maybe someday I'll give it another shot.

Just released my much more detailed work with Rainbow Six 3's ragdolls, so if you've got the game and want to see a massive improvement of its physics, look no further!

It's been a long time! I just got done adjusting the center-of-mass for many parts of the UT2004 ragdolls. It's an update a long time coming, but I've been back into Unreal Tournament and tweaking the numbers again.

I think this latest release is a substantial improvement! Doesn't even look half bad without the mutator. :)

This and the RS3 addon are weirdly amazing. I have a request for another UT2 engine game: Postal 2. The Ragdolls are pretty bad and the game uses .ka files for the ragdoll physics, so if you did decide to look into it it should be right up your alley.

It's really great improvement. Bodies now behave a lot better:]Thank You for Your work. I have a rude question tho. How to uninstall it? I rly miss the way bodies fly after shock combo explosion next to enemies or after flak or rocket. I believe I can set this in mutator but I am playing single player campaign right now and I cant use mutators in it :(

If you followed my installation instructions, you overwrote your original ragdoll files (my bad). There are a couple of ways for you to get them back.

If you're installed through Steam, you might try deleting the "KarmaData" folder and then verifying the game's files through Steam. It should re-download the missing content.

Otherwise, I'd say you just need to re-install the game. I should maybe update my installation instructions to mention backing up the original files, in case anyone for any reason wants to use the original ragdolls again.
