Och komm, das ist auch fies. Ich glaub, er hat das falsche Bild runtergeladen. Eigentlich hatte die Bank, auf die wir uns geeinigt hatten, 76 Tris und sah beinahe genau so aus wie die Alte, nur mit drei Beinen.

Oh come on, that's rude. I think he just uploaded te wrong pic. Actually the bank we chose had 76 tris and looked almost exactly like the old one, just with three supports.

remember, that using bunch of high poly (depends on the engine. on quake it's quite high) models at once in one level can rape the engine, and cause nice performance issues. (even if you have a cannon as a rig)

yes but this way we can map the textures rather than apply them to each face in worldcraft

Right, we know they dont need to be an .mdl. But from what i have found (maybe its just the ipod) but the ipod handles entity faces much better than world faces. So if we can make the props and clutter entities, I believe it would increase performance.
