Tiberian Sun: Reborn brings the exciting storyline and epic clashes from the classic Westwood Studios game, Command & Conquer: Tiberian Sun to realm of first person shooters, with a twist. We've remained loyal to the style and feel of the 1999 classic, while integrating content from its expansion Firestorm with a bit of updated history to add to the mix. Built off the W3D engine Westwood Studios built for classics such as Earth & Beyond and Command & Conquer: Renegade finished up in 2001, we help bring the fight to you as you play out your role as any one of a number of infantry classes participating in team-based combat that often involves land, sea, and air combined-arms clashes that just don't happen in any other game. Oh, and did we mention it's FREE?
So, I hear you want to sabotage some structures? This isn't a 90s action movie, you're going to need more than just a floppy disk with a virus if you want to cripple self-analysis and internal-repair mechanisms linked to a modern GDI facility network.
Engineers will cause some havoc on the automated systems, and it'll take time to correct itself, making an Engineer infiltration a great way to soften up a hardened structure and leave it exposed to future attack.
Renardin's texturework.
What exactly does it do?
So I take it this sort of disables a structure.
After a certain amount of time spent interacting with the enemy structure, the building will go offline. So, a War Factory will no longer be able to produce units, which gives attackers a huge edge and also stalls any kind of assault. You could also cut the enemy Radar, or shut down base Power.
The Engineer cannot be engaged in combat to hack; he must hide somewhere and use his terminal to conduct his special form of attack. There is no "ammunition," and an Engineer could quickly run out of a hacked building to go hack another building-- or stick around to reinforce his sabotage on the current target. Buildings left alone will slowly auto-correct themselves.
wow, just like chinese hackers i guess~
I think it's more like the multi-engineer option in old C&C games, when an engineer entering a healthy building would only damage it instead of capturing it instantly.
That's what I was thinking.
Thats nice!
So we'll see some APB inspired custom content, and not a pure Renegade with new models like the "old" Reborn?
That's a good way of putting it. Don't expect a "Renegade reskin," there will be some fresher ideas at work. There are some neat things we wanted to try in APB or AR that wouldn't fit there but would make sense in this setting, too.
Really nice to hear!
Renegade got quite boring a long time ago, but APB has held it for years and years, especialy with the upgraded W3D engine.
I was honestly afraid of you sticking to the old engine would eventualy make it boring as you ran into its limits, but I am glad to see that you are still pushing t for new and interesting features and effects.
Really nice looking. =)
Glad to hear people are liking this :D
Sounds like it would be too difficult to do without escort, which would make calling it an infiltration kind of a misnomer. More like a forced insertion.
Nice looking
Better to add CABAL avatar on the screen
I might do that in the future, maybe an animated one. It's possible, we did it on our pt's.
Well, actually, a floppy disk with virus is all it takes in reality even today. Stuxnet broke 1000 iranian uranium centrifugues and it was just a usb virus made by US and Israeli intelligence.
