The time is yesterday and the Cold War is in full swing. Through means devious and dubious you have seized power in the Caribbean island country of Tropico, where you now rule as the all-powerful "El Presidente".

The game is great you get to build you own little island nation from a backward farming based economy to full industrialized economy. Would recommend picking up the Tropico 4 cuz it's essentially the same game but with a lot improvements.

I discovered the first Tropico recently and found it to be pretty fun, but would have loved if it had a bit more updated graphics. Well, I tried Tropico 3, and it's graphics are far above the graphic update I was hoping for. :) Tropico 3's animations for the people at work and travelling from place to place are an awesome little addition that I much appreciate. The game also plays like the original tropico for the most part, so I didn't have too much trouble switching over from the older game. It feels like the game has been made much easier, because I struggled to succeed in the first game, yet this I was able to start making money and keeping people happy with (relatively) little effort. I am glad that it is a bit more accessible though, and the tutorials are SO much more helpful than the previous game. After playing the first though, this game just feels like it is missing something...
It's a great game, and as I said, the tutorials really help you figure out how to play, so I would recommend it to anyone interesting.

Now, if there were only mods for this game, I think it would be so much more fantastic.
