Trine is a beautiful fantasy action platformer with a fairytale-like atmosphere, following the journey of three heroes - a Wizard, a Knight and a Thief - in a quest to save the kingdom from evil. The gameplay is based on fully interactive physics - each character's different abilities and tactics can be used to invent new ways to battle an army of undead and overcome obstacles, and restore the balance of the world.
Nice game, good graphics (a bit too good I'm afraid, It still runs at about 2 frames per second on lowest resolution and graphics), good story, only bummer that my graphic card can't handle it and it refuses to save settings on Ubuntu (no problem on Debian though).
This game is awesome! One of the best games I've played on linux!
Unfortunately, the current release has a very annoying bug: the progress is not saved.
The problem seems to be due to the fact that the directory "save" is created with the first letter capitalized ("Save").
To resolve the problem, just create the directory "save" manually:
mkdir -p ~/.frozenbyte/trine/profiles/default/save
Atmosphere, humour and a well-polished gameplay are what makes Trine a game to try. At the highest difficulty the choice you make in leveling up your characters are really important and give the game an unexpected replay-value(along with all the secrets spread out in every level. Biggest disappointments are the lack of a multiplayer cooperative mode and the overall lenght(about 6-7 hours) along with some control responsiveness issues.
For this price you should definately give this game a chance.
