Takes the first game's beloved triad - the powerful knight, the swift rogue, and the crafty wizard - and puts them into an all-new adventure filled with more action, more puzzles, and the introduction of online support for the series's popular cooperative 3-person gameplay.

If you have ever wanted to mod Trine or develop your own epic platform adventure you can now do just that.

Whilst there is little supporting documentation at the moment, the Frozenbyte guys have given the full in house tools they used to make the games, here's what they say.

Frozenbyte wrote:The reason we’ve held off releasing the editor to the public before has been quite simple. It’s pretty difficult to use if you don’t know what you’re doing, and there’s *very* little documentation or tooltips.

The Frozenbyte Editor is a very diverse tool. This is what we use to make games like Trine and Trine 2, and it’s based entirely on our own technology. You can now edit existing maps, make new maps and do all kinds of things with it. If this sounds like fun, go a head and play with the features and experiment!

So did we make an easy-to-use version for everyone to enjoy? The answer to that is…not really :) Instead we’ve opened a wiki page and provided some very basic instructions on how to use our editor. It’s an open wiki after you’ve registered, so anyone can edit and post information, and we hope that people will start to share their knowledge with everyone. We’ll also be updating the wiki ourselves and tracking that all the instructions are correct and up-to-date.

So what are you waiting for follow these instructions and jump in.

Working on a Trine or Trine 2 mod / total conversion or addon, feel free to submit them to the listing & promote your hard work to the world.

It looks like there is a mistake in the linux version start script (trine2.sh). I had to change this line:

export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=./lib/lib32

to this:

export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=./lib

then it worked.

This is outrageous! This page is misleading! Trine 2 Desura version does not work on windows (WHY?), but this page says the opposite. I have been waiting for two months now for the Windows version but nothing yet. Shame!

The page states that the game works on Windows, but Desura never claimed to be selling the Windows version. Check the releases section - only a penguin and an apple.

Hi to the developers or anybody who knows a solution. I installed Trine 2 from Desura in Ubuntu 12.04.

The game works, but the resolution of my screen (1600:900) is not in the list of supported resolutions. Now I can't go fullscreen.. Choosing a higher resolution than my screen can manage results in only parts being displayed, choosing a lower resolution results dos not fill the screen.

Is there a workaround?

Ok, figured it out. Fullscreen works great, but if the correct screen size is not available out-of-the-box it has to be added manually to the options file. If someone else wonders:

the correct screen size can be set in the file:
/home/<user>/.frozenbyte/Trine2/options.txt

In this file the options
setOption(renderingModule, "ScreenWidth", 1600)
setOption(renderingModule, "ScreenHeight", 900)
need to be set to the actual values.
