Tremulous 1.1.0 Linux installer

Tremulous is a free, open source game that blends a team based FPS with elements of an RTS. Players can choose from 2 unique races, aliens and humans. Players on both teams are able to build working structures in-game like an RTS. These structures provide many functions, the most important being spawning. The designated builders must ensure there are spawn structures or other players will not be able to rejoin the game after death. The overall objective behind Tremulous is to eliminate the opposing team. This is achieved by not only killing the opposing players but also removing their ability to respawn by destroying their spawn structures.

OK, I lied. There is another release before the stand alone version: 1.0.2. The focus is much the same as for 1.0.1, i.e. balance tweaks and bug fixes. The primary reason for making another release is that we've reached a point with the 1.0.1 data where it is clear what the changes accomplished, and gathering further data is essentially useless.
Work continues on the stand alone version. I have been spending a lot of time contributing to icculus.org Q3 with a view to using it as base. The vast majority of known Q3 bugs have been squashed, and certainly all the serious ones. I can heartily recommend it as a good client to use for playing Tremulous, assuming you're comfortable compiling it yourself. Note it's possible to compile a Windows client with MinGW, so you don't need expensive tools like Visual Studio to get your feet wet.
You need to have Flash and Javascript running in your browser to see this player.

The quake 3 engine hasbeen released under the gpl license so they used that engine and changed the artwork and logic so that they got a new game. This was originally a mod for quake 3. Therefore ths game should support quake style modding with each mod in a different folder.
forgot this improtant part of my last Comment...
WHOOHOOOO ITS THE 'D'!!!!!!!
For the People who where wondering, Natural Selection (NS) Is a popular Mod for Half Life, I was going to do the whole 'PLAGERISIM!' thing, but its been done. and I'll trust the people, and reserve my judgement for AFTER I play Tremulous....
by the by, Tremulous Looks awsome.
thanks, but i'd need new art files, for replicaters, and human weaponry to be changed to p-90's and M-16's, that type of stuff
It's quake 3 engine.
can this even be modded?
and if so, i think hat a mod based off of the t.V. show stargate SG1 could be done, replicaters vs. humans
does it use the quake engine i think it uses a standalone engine
Can someone explain for us noobs what you mean by "NS"?
Lets look at the facts:
NS is inspired by Gloom. Tremulous is inspired by gloom.
They both have extremely varying gameplay.
Have you played them both, because i have. Tremulous feels extremely different than NS.
And the final factor for me playing tremulous:
Tremulous runs on Linux natively. NS does not. Its Open Source (Meaning i can contribute fixes, new features, and actually become a part of developing the game).
Play both, and comment back. Im not going to be trolled.
Im sure youll be pleasently supprised at how different the gameplay is.
Better yet, play gloom once, and comment back.
Do some research next time before you say something like "OMGWTF!!111one NS!!!!!"
noting more to say
