Tremulous is a free, open source game that blends a team based FPS with elements of an RTS. Players can choose from 2 unique races, aliens and humans. Players on both teams are able to build working structures in-game like an RTS. These structures provide many functions, the most important being spawning. The designated builders must ensure there are spawn structures or other players will not be able to rejoin the game after death. The overall objective behind Tremulous is to eliminate the opposing team. This is achieved by not only killing the opposing players but also removing their ability to respawn by destroying their spawn structures.

Tremulous is a free open source game that blends team based FPS with RTS. Players can choose from 2 unique races: aliens and humans. Players on both teams are able to build bases from a handful of different structures. These structures provide a multitude of functions, such as allowing players to respawn after dying. The builders must ensure there are spawn structures or other players will not be able to rejoin the game after death. Other structures can be built to provide some amount of automated base defence, or heal wounded players and much more...
Changes:
The latest 1.2 Beta includes a ton of gameplay updates and bug fixes.

Availability:
The installers are available for all major operating systems at Tremulous.net
How to Install:
For all platforms other than Mac OS X, this is an update to 1.1, so an installation of Tremulous 1.1 is required. If you do not have Tremulous installed, download and install Tremulous 1.1. Then download and run the 1.2 Beta installer.
So there you go, that's all the necessary information you need to play the new 1.2 Beta! We'd love to see you in-game, every person that plays provides us with important feedback which contributes to making Tremulous better than ever! The more players that play the beta, the quicker we can make sure that all the major bugs are ironed out, which means we can release 1.2 sooner!

Wait, is there a mac version yet?
There has always been an "unofficial" mac version @ TJW's website - Trem.tjw.org .
Next version (coming SOON) will have it released officially.
NICE GAME i played in XP whit OpenGL but now TOO BAD!!!! NO RUN IN SOFTWARE MODE

Will it make the climbing mechanic easier like in NS? Because that's a HUGE annoyance due to how disorienting it is. Also try much more to differentiate this from NS.
This game is waaaayyy to similar to Natural Selection...
im not a bit surprised its similar to NS since both games are based off of Gloom.
if anything NS is based off of trem since trem is older.
however it changed a lot after the release of natural selection. so dunno
Go Tremulous Go ! The best game I've ever played. :)
Full of dynamic gameplay to keep oneself busy for hours together.
