This project has not been abandoned. Unless information comes from the official source, please disregard online rumors. Indie game dev is a very tough business and the year 2013 is even tougher due to many new indie studios funded by former AAA developers. Competition for human resources and funding is fierce. People who believed it the game and ordered alpha - huge thank you, you will never be forgotten and when the game is resurrected, we will make it up to you, somehow. Thank you for understanding.

Seeing no feedback for the new features we implemented I figured Desura client doesn't ping owners of the game that there was an update. Therefore I made a screencast about new features including spellcrafting and new menu. We hope you will appreciate these features and will make some cool let's play style videos of you and your buddies chopping up skelies together online and growing your magical powers :)

Unfortunately, due to the lack of funding, the lead programmer had to find a day job and he quit commercial game development altogether. That is a set back I would have to deal with.

Indie game development can be fun when there is time and money to back up the project. Most of the time it's a struggle, unfortunately. This project isn't being cancelled, it's just being pushed back.

Hopefully I can put together a new team to continue working on the game, but as I mentioned earlier somewhere on the Net, the game was not following my vision and pretty much dead ended.

I know some of you (or many of you) will be disappointed. However the game was not scheduled to be released any time soon anyway. This set back will allow me to define goals much more clearly for the new team to come and ensure that development goes according to layed out plan.

Thank you for your understanding. As soon as I have some news, I will let you know.

Oh yeah on a side note: I understand not havign to do a day job means more time that COULD be spent on making the game, but does not mean in any way that it WOULD. Money and endless free time shouldn't be a motivator to making something you enjoy.

You dont need money to make an indie game. I don't know what world you are living in but certainly not in the real world XD Games can be made just as easily if you had a day job or not. Quitting making a game because of a dayjob is just a lame excuse - why make it in the first place if it wasnt fun to work on? Honestly, this mind frame people have with dayjob = no indie games is just stupid. You either have fun making it (as an indie should) or don't make it all. Want to go professional just to make an income, get a job with the big companies.

Yes, alpha funding has been ceased for now. The game doesn't seem to resonate with the crowd, game press doesn't care for it, which ultimately resulted in nearly zero sales for a long time.

I have been giving it a though and ultimately there are a lot of things need to be overhauled and properly designed.

In other words the game isn't dead, but I have to give it a deep thought to make it work and be fun.

I have been keeping an eye on this one for quite some time now and I just bought the game and thought I'd throw in my 2 cents. I really like it, the lighting is fantastic, the textures and enemies look great, and i love the spells (once I'd figured out how to create them) and sword combat. One thing that would make the game better for me would be have some way of greying out the map so you can see where you have and have not been. I am somewhat of a completist and like to visit all rooms, and this feature would just make it easier to do so. Great work and I look forward to getting the updates as they are available. Any chance you guys are planning to put this on Steam greenlight when it launches?

Is it fog-of-war you are talking about? If so, it's on the to-do list :)

Steam is poking around if they want the game. Can't say anything firm yet.
