ALPHAFUNDING +FAILED+ | TEAM GOT DISPERSED In order to continue development, we have to put a new team together, and fund the game through alternative source of funding. That will take some time. This project has not been abandoned. Unless information comes from the official source, please disregard online rumors. Indie game dev is a very tough business and the year 2013 is even tougher due to many new indie studios funded by former AAA developers. Competition for human resources and funding is fierce. People who believed it the game and ordered alpha - huge thank you, you will never be forgotten and when the game is resurrected, we will make it up to you, somehow. Thank you for understanding.

Seeing no feedback for the new features we implemented I figured Desura client doesn't ping owners of the game that there was an update. Therefore I made a screencast about new features including spellcrafting and new menu. We hope you will appreciate these features and will make some cool let's play style videos of you and your buddies chopping up skelies together online and growing your magical powers :)

Two things bother one. The first is the price, which seems way too high, and the second is the fact that the description says the game is a "pinnacle of the genre". It seems a bit bold/early to say that.

I just thought I'd point out that I can't find anywhere on your website that actually says how much it is for the alpha-funding. I'm guessing $10 based on a forum post in your community, but it would probably be a good idea to make sure that's easily noticeable.

There is the link that goes to paypal but I'd rather know exactly what I'm doing before going that far.

Also, why no Desura for alpha funding? Is it planned?

You simply click on big red Buy button which leads you to our SSL secured e-Shoppe where you can see all prices on all of our games including Tomes of Mephistopheles. Also, I have always thought when you support the game and the developer, the amount shouldn't matter.

The only link that goes straight to PayPal is for Steel Storm 2 ( Two.steel-storm.com ) as I don't have alpha playable just yet for that game. Thus - simple pre-order.

We have been having a ton of technical difficulties with Desura, but hopefully all that is fixed as I am uploading alpha builds right now.

I'm sorry but the price matters. A lot. Lately I'm seeing lots of games in alpha state nearly the same price as commercial, finished and polished games.

Maybe you have an excess of money that you like to throw at games which give you no indication of how they play (demo would be nice).
Price always matters, you`re a business, not a charity.
I am interested but not for that much - there's too many other games i want, which score higher in the price/gameplay/risk factor.

Well, the price does matter when my job pays horrible and I'm trying to watch my spending. :P

Thanks for the quick reply and information!

Are you kidding with the price here? EUR 17.49 is around USD 23.56 which is +130% to the price you ask on your website. I read that you dislike the 30% cut Desura takes and could understand if you compensated for that but this is just ridiculous.
