You are Bishop, leader of Rainbow’s elite Bravo Team. You’ve been ordered to a desolate observatory where a hostage stand-off is underway. Your mission is straightforward: infiltrate the observatory and protect the hostages should negotiations fail. But you’re experienced enough to know that things have a funny way of not going as planned...
Great tactical first person shooter. A definite improvement over the already excellent original. The gameplay makes you feel just like you are in a special ops squad. The campaign is engaging and the multiplayer maps are top notch. The single player or cooperative "Terrorist Hunt" allows for quick but challenging games. Outfitting custom armor also adds another level to the fun by allowing you to give your character his own style.
Despite this, it definitely has a rushed to production feel. There are minor oddities like the shield disappearing when not in use. Also certain weapons' sights and/or scopes are not aligned properly. The AI's are still quite stupid and your allies can be as much of a liability as they can be an asset. The weapons are all a bit generic with pistols and submachine guns seeming as powerful as assault rifles and light machine guns. Shotguns seem to make decent sniper rifles as well. The Vegas 2 Realism Mod addresses most of these problems and adds a certain amount of polish to the game.
The game can be found relatively cheap and should be considered a definite "must have" for your game library.
