It is mostly just making it more compatible with maps and missions still being made for GRAW2. I always wanted to have the mod in as few files as possible and thanks to Radiator’s sound work, I was at least able to pair it down to two main bundle files with the intro movie still being in local. There are also two files for running the mod without having to modify your stock context.xml. Over the past year or so, I have made minor tweaks to this mod, but never published anything.


v2.07 Update

Over the past year or so, I have made minor tweaks to this mod, but never published
anything. The list below is probably incomplete, just off the top of my head.

Tweaks
·set all weapons with no burst mode to single shot when cycling through burst,
previously they just would not fire when cycling through burst mode.
·added combat sight as an attachment to Mk46 SAW
·reduced the zoom distance for all eotechs
·changed grip for soldiers not using tac grips to grab the barrel

v2.0 Additions
Almost a year has past since the last major update to this mod. I’ve been pretty busy the second part of 2008, but earlier this month, January 2009, for some reason I got the urge to make some adjustments to this mod. Perhaps it was the renewed interest in GRAW2 modding or just unfinished business. Whatever the case, I’ve been going at it pretty hardcore when I have free time. What I thought would be a quick update, as usual, turned into something larger.

This update actually began shortly after releasing the last version, but for various reason I got discouraged with what I wanted to bring into the game, mostly because of not being able to import custom weapon animation and the limit on attachment id#s in multi-player. One thing lead to another and the project was basically done and shelved. However, after bringing in a few things I did for GRAW1, I was able to free up 6 precious attachment id#s, which gave me enough inspiration to try and get what I wanted accomplished.

I wanted to bring in one of my favorite characters from Ghost Recon, Nigel Tunney. Being a British soldier, he needs a British weapon and that caused the huge problem. Bringing in an SA-80 type weapon seems doable by just using the mrc anim set, but then all the sights are out of whack. Using a scar anim set could work, but then grips and reloads look really bad. After a weekend of experimentation I cleaned up the model I had started and was able to combine anim sets of different weapons into one more usable set for SA-80 type guns. With that knowledge in hand I discovered many other tricks which helped with several other weapons too. This gave me enough confidence to go ahead and finish what I had started a very long time ago.

Thx, it worked :), not bad so far, the weapon textures look a bit strange (like they are fresh painted), the Benelli Shotgun has a weird reloading anim :D, and i miss a few details on the L85a2 like the Mag Catch. And can you plz remove the Full Auto on the M16a4 and Burst Mode M4a1 ??? But like i said, not bad, i like it :)

There are A LOT of limitations to modding GRAW(1 and 2), especially with regard to animations. I can't take the Full Auto mode off of the M16a4, there is no mode for semi+burst(well, actually there is, but it doesn't work as you can see). I could stick the M4 back to semi+auto, but then it wouldn't default to single fire. This was requested for mp/coop play since a bug gets you stuck in full auto mode. So, I just disabled burst by setting the burst count to zero, but you still have to cycle through it if you want to go full auto. There actually is an anim set for the shotgun, but I never bothered to update since people didn't have much interest in it, and the game has the collapsable stock version about the same time I put that in last year. I don't really want to spend time doing textures. I hate doing them. I just went for "exceptable" level.

Definitely the "Stone" error means the game isn't reading all of the files in the mod bundle. Not sure why people have this issue. Did you try searching for .xmbs and delete them? Everything is in the correct place right?

Do you have anything else in the English dir? Try removing it all. I'll see about putting an un-bundled version up soon. Probably just combine them into one again. I was hoping this version would get rid of problems like you are experiencing.

The search for xmbs should be your entire computer, not just the game folder.

If you got it unbundled, just put everything into english/local, but not the data folder. So, you'll have something like this:

local/english/lib
local/english/units
local/english/textures
...etc

as opposed to:

local/english/data/lib
local/english/data/units
...etc

Delete the bundle from the mod folder and run the game as you normally would(not the bp...bat file - though you could still use that). Alternately, you can edit the bp_context....xml to "point" to a different language folder, and move all of those folders outside of english into something more custom.

The problem with putting everything in the "english" folder is that it over-rides un-modded Graw2. However, if you want to go back to a normal Graw2, just rename english to something like x_english. This is all assuming you are using english as your language.

Let me know if you don't get any sound. That bundle is in the custom_levels folder, but hopefully it should still work.

Ah...bundles...they cause so much headache for people, I'm not sure why I bothered doing it this way. It's like a 50/50 chance it will work.

Perhaps. I just uploaded the un-bundled version as part of the download. Make's it twice as big, but at least you'll know all the files are there. Try that and see if it works.

Also, be sure to read the readmes...both of them, at least the install parts.
