Hello indie friends,

After about two and a half years of development we are happy to finally announce our first iOS game, which is called "About Love, Hate and the other ones".

It is a puzzle game in which you control the two main characters, Love and Hate, and guide them through 60 levels to take them back home to their beloved hill. You will encounter different other ones with unique behavior, all dependent on whether Love or Hate interacts with them.

Created by three students from Kassel University the game has already received an honorable mention at the IGF back when it was a flash game prototype and won the German computer games award in the newcomer category with an early beta version of what will soon be available at the App Store (release date 23rd October 2012).

The game is still free, yes? At least Grandpa's Leftovers?

Hi Paradigmthefallen, sadly this time I have to dissappoint you. "Up that Mountain" will remain for free yes, but with "Grandpa's Leftovers" we need to earn a few bucks. We would like to create more than only one unique styled game. But this needs a lot of time and money as well.

Well, what if you made another demo that just used an arena-style playground? There's no point and no end (maybe let the players spawn new objects at most). It's not nearly as interesting as the adventure episodes, but it wets the apetite of those who wish to push the Scape engine and your tools to the limit.

Is it possible you guys will make it possible for people to come up with more than one solution to the platforming and puzzles? I realize there will be some random genius out there who'll figure out a crazy way to play -- but I meaning more in the vein of how Dishonoured is going about it: Giving you more than one option, if you have the know-how, intelligence, and quick trigger finger to pull off a crazy stunt.

That being said, the only other thing I could possible hope of from this game, would be a sandbox mode...

While testing the game, we recognized that the cutting mechanics include a big load varieties to solve a puzzle. The Levels are designed rather linear but every puzzle is solveable in more than one way, and everytime we watch somebody play, he comes up with another solution, we've never thought of. and sandbox mode would definitely be great, i agree!
