Through is an RPG with a focus on tactical combat and resource management. It is heavily inspired by other Roguelikes. However, Through carries some key differences. There is a large focus on accessibility and ease of use as well as simplicity and transparent design (for instance, your character only has a Strength and Intelligence stat). If you're looking for a deep RPG system thats easy to pick-up and play but difficult to master, give Through a shot. This update adds class and race selection to the character creation process.

Version 1.4s goal was to make character selection options more interesting, and on presenting a wider variety of playstyles in Through.
To accomplish those goals, I added Race selection to Through. Previously, there were 10 classes available. Now there are 5 classes and 5 races that can be played in any combination, leading to 25 possible characters to play. Some overlap previous ones (the feeder and giant have become races), some are completely new (the planar being and the archer are totally new). Any class or race that did exist previously has been reworked and rebalanced to make them both more accessible and more interesting to play (the Monk class, for instance, plays entirely differently than in previous versions).
Next week I intend to begin adding strategy guides to a specific race-class combos I like. If you have a build that can successfully get through the game on Normal or higher difficulty, post about it in the comments so I can check it out.
The next patch I'm working on is going to be a very substantial content update, but it's going to take a lot of time. The goal is to add an entirely new dungeon, complete with new monsters, tilesets and music. I also want to add more classes and races. But, unsurprisingly, that much content doesn't come easy or quickly, so expect around 2 months break before the next version arrives.
