This game follows the story of what happens after the John Carpenter 1982 movie adaptation of the John W. Campbell JR Novel "Who Goes There?". The original game borrows heavily on the story from the 2002 video game and the current sequel expands further on the plot after Captain Blake defeats the Thing entity. After the death of Whitley and the destruction of Gen Inc property; Captain J.F.Blake boards a rescue plane and leaves Antarctica. Complications arise and the aircraft malfunctions and crashes. With no report from Blake the Alaska base sends in a new rescue team of which you the player take control. Your task is to find Captain Blake and escort him back to Alaska. However the thing entity did not die with Whitley on that day...
In the v2 update Gen Inc is better equipped and even more deadly than ever!
Alongside the new skills, traits and grenade/item usage they have a variety of new troops. The deadly Shotgunner brings lots of grenades with him, the bullpup marksman is focused and deals more damage, the female smg trooper carries a host of annoying grenade effects and the regular assault troop has been requipped with grenades and a new skill.
Alongside these soldier variants is a LMG trooper who will suppress targets and deal high damage to anyone in his path! These troops in combination with special units like the Hazmat will likely cause you some serious problems.
That takes care of the Mercenaries and Gen Inc's new troops, intel on the US Armies new loadout will be revealed within the week. Not only will they be getting variants to their core troopers but some of the special units will be getting re-equipped too...
Neat!
Does this mean we will get Gen Inc soldier bonus sprite? Also, what about Hazmat teams?
Sorry its kinda hard keeping up with comments as it doesn't exactly notify me when I have one (it only notifies replies). These enemies will feature in the updated version of the game. Hazmat units only really retain the one model as I consider them more specialist gen inc units.
Heh, sounds about right :)
Nice! Loving the Gen Inc enemy faction. They don't care if the things out there, they'll still try to control the situation and continue their evil agendas.
Thanks, they are trying to win the evil Umbrella Award this year.
