Long ago, in the land of Flanaess, an evil demoness founded a cult dedicated to exploring evil in its most elemental forms. This cult was based in a temple just outside the village of Hommlet in a vile shire known as Nulb. Soon, this cult ruled the region with tyranny; times of chaos and violence ensued. Hard-fought battles were waged and the war was eventually won by the good armies of nearby lands. The temple was razed, the villains were imprisoned, and order was restored. The temple itself faded into distant memory...until now. Recently, bandits have begun patrolling the roads outside Hommlet and wicked forces are rumored to be afoot, converging on the ruined temple at Nulb. Their purposes for such meetings are as yet unknown. The identity of these people are equally a mystery. Some claim they are bent on slaying monsters and maintaining order within the region, but no one can be sure. So begins your adventure within the Realm of Greyhawk. It is an adventure that will lead to the source...

Description

Final version of the demo of the Keep on the Borderlands mod for Atari's Temple of Elemental Evil. Created by the Circle of Eight (www.co8.org)

Keep on the Bordlerlands Demo Final

What is it? The final version of the Keep on the Borderlands Demo, containing various bug-fixes, missing elements (such as mini-maps) and improved game-play.

Whats it for? Atari's Temple of Elemental Evil.

What do I need? A copy of Atari's Temple of Elemental Evil, patched to patch 2, and a copy of TFE-X.

What don't I need? You don't need the previous version of the Demo or its CMFs, this is a complete re-install.

You don't need to convert this to TFE-X, its a native TFE-X module.

You don't need any other Co8 release (such as Co8's 5.5.0 mod), this is a completely seperate module.

How do I install it? Unzip the .rar file to the root directory (Atari / Temple of Elemental Evil). Click 'overwrite' as necessary. This will create a file called KotB_Demo_1.1_Final.tfm and matching .txt and .jpg files, which should appear alongside the data, docs and modules folders and other elements of the root folder.

How do I play it? Run TFE-X, select the module and click 'Activate'. This may take some time.

Be aware that if you have a copy of Co8 5.5.0 or any other mod active, any private changes (such as editing the protos.tab) will be lost when the module is de-activated - back up the data folder as necessary!

When it is done, select 'Options / Clear the Game Cache' and press play.

In the unlikely event I find a bug, where do I post it? At the Co8 forum, www.co8.org/forum, in the Keep on the Borderlands area. Or click HERE.
