Hi, the game starts up fine, but when I get to the character select screen (in any game mode), the character select doesn't show up (it worked fine in the demo)

Thanks for the email and sorry you are having trouble. We'll do our best to assist. That's odd. We haven't come across that problem before, especially as the demo works. Have you tried to uninstall the demo and re-install the main game? What are the machine specs?

I have tried that (multiple times actually). Here are my PC specs:

Intel i7-630QM
16GB Ram
Windows 8 Pro 64-bit

I actually have to run it in Windows 7 compatability mode, it won't launch otherwise

Further to this: Can you please send an email to admin@bungarra.com. We will send a separate game installer to you. If you can please use the installer on either your current machine or test it on a separate machine, that'd be appreciated. By all means let us know whether you have any issues.

Thanks for the email. We haven't officially starting supporting Windows 8 and we haven't tested the game running on that system yet, so there might be an issue there. We will do our best to help you. Your machine sounds like it's quite good so you shouldn't have trouble in theory. Okay, this is a bit of a needle in haystack so it's going to take a bit of experimenting to try and find and fix the problem. So some things to try and check initially: Make sure you've downloaded and installed the latest drivers. Also perhaps test by unplugging any external USB drives from your laptop, check your antivirus software isn't interfering in any way. From what we
understand Win 8 can be system resources heavy. If it's Windows 8 (e.g. RTM 64-bit) you are using then check your memory usage. If it's high, it might be a memory issue with Windows 8. We can send you a troubleshooting file to assist further.

That would be great, I will look into those things. I am sure memory usage is not an issue, and I did try disabling my antivirus, all to no avail. FWIW, The demo needed to be run in compatibility mode too, but it launched fine. Thanks!

Yeah I'm running windows 8 as well, demo ran fine but as soon as i get to the character screen, no characters actually show up

Hi petetalbot,

Official support for Windows 8 was a fair way down on our to-do list, but it looks like we're going to need to bring this forward now. It is really a strange problem. So far we can't reproduce the crash here but we'll do our best to help.

What are your specs?
Do you get any error messages at all?

So some things to try and check initially - apologies if you have tried some of this stuff already.

  1. Download an official Microsoft Visual C++ 2008 Redistributable Package (x64) and try to see if that fixes the problem. The pre-packaged distributable that comes with the games installer is 2005, so perhaps Win8 needs a later version.
  2. Uninstall the demo for now
  3. Uninstall and Reinstall the full game in Windows 7 compatibility mode. Please follow the steps below:

Please follow the steps to uninstall the Program:
a) Press Windows and x key on your desktop screen and click on Programs and Features
b) Locate the game and double click on it to uninstall.
c) Follow the onscreen instructions to uninstall it properly.
d) After uninstall the program, please follow the steps to install it in Windows 7 compatibility mode:
e) Right click on the setup file of the game.
f) Click on properties.
g) Go to compatibility tab and check the box which states" Run this program in compatibility mode for"
h) Select Windows 7 from the drop down list and click on OK.

3. Update your Graphic's card/ Display adapter drivers.

a) Press Windows and x key on your desktop and click on Device Manager.
b) Expand ‘Display Adapter'.
c) Locate the display driver.
d) Right-click on the display card listed and click on ‘Update Driver Software'.

We've just discovered the problem - must be something going on with the Desura installer. We will sort that out now. In the interim, for those who have purchased the game please email us directly at admin@bungarra.com and we will send you our installer in the interim.
