The Somme - WWI FPS

Greetings Trench Rats,

It is sad news today, news that will greatly upset a lot of the followers of The Somme. Unfortunately we've collectively agreed as a team to let The Somme peacefully pass away. We acknowledge this might come as a huge shock due to the recent post regarding a firm revival of The Somme, however due to unforeseen circumstances financially, The Somme could no longer sustain itself. This comes with the territory of being a real indie game, indie games are plagued with the problem of funding and believe us when we say we did our complete best in looking for a cure. Maybe one day the project might arise if the funding is there, but from strong observation the probability of that happening is tremendously low.

We hope that you understand the severity of the issues that plague such a ambitious project - we want to thank you as a community for being absolutely amazing, loving and very interested in the product.

We were in talks with Epic regarding us using Unreal Engine 4, but we didn't hear anything back - so I don't think they're interested unfortunately. Don't worry, Unreal 3 is still good!

It wouldn't be fare if we told you a date and didn't release it on that date. So we don't want to promise anything right now. We ideally would like to release a trailer in collaboration with our Kickstarter campaign. :o)

It's an option in the menu(s) to enable or disable auto-bolting.

Any chance we'll see some underground tunnel warfare beneath the battlefield? I think that would be incredible to have a network of tunnels beneath the main map and having to fight it out in close quarters in almost pitch darkness and also its a part of WW1 that is rarely explored but was quite significant.

Actually i agree, but like... The player needs to dig it, to get to the enemy base or something, underground tunnels would work pretty well :D
