The Archipelago theme is the most complex of all the random map themes in WBC3. It contains the largest number of geomorphic tiles (components to make a random map) by more than double any other theme. This allows for immense variation and creates some really interesting looking islands for which you are to battle on.

(Although admittedly this isn't the most interesting one I've come across.)

Please upload a map featuring Savannah too! A question, are all islands in Archipelago connected, or may need amphibious units/ships to be accessed? I already thought of a way to play Archipelago, with Eyries/Nests/Broods being forbidden (to avoid Eagle/Pheonix abuses) and fog-of-war, like some sort of mysterious island chain.

BTW, have you thought about making a "winter" Savannah version, with no cacti, but barren, frozen terrain? I think it would be a great representation of a tundra or cold steppe, such as Ar and Ehlariel, both being mentioned as cold locations.

We haven't started on the Savannah theme yet as it requires new assets. But once I've finished off some new tiles, I'll begin making those new assets (although I may take a quick deter and tackle something small first) which will lead immediately to the creation of the Savannah theme.

Also only late last week we were talking about snowy-deserts, similar to the Gobi Desert in real life. In Etheria the north border of the Realms of Famine appears to be exactly that. It would require new tiles but I think we've already accepted the idea, so it is almost a certainty we will have such a theme in the future!

As for the archipelago islands, they are all linked so no boats are needed. If the RMG does make an inaccessible island, the game won't allow anyone start there (well, once the new function that handles start location linking is fully working). But the vanilla function that tries to prevent this by making sure the corners of the map are all linked is still in effect.
