The winner of the RMG theme poll is..... Savannah!
And also Archipelago..... (They were joint first at the time the poll was ended - when we hit 100 votes.)
Some time ago we put up a poll to see what new RMG theme you guys would want to see first for the next version of The Protectors. After 2 weeks had passed, we had reached exactly 100 votes so we decided to call it there. When we did, Archipelago and Savannah were joint first! That means they'll both be included in 0.8.8 without fail! (Well, assuming we have time - but it's on the priority list to get both in there.)
A single picture doesn't do the theme justice, in my opinion, so I'll probably post a few more screen shots later on. But the theme is based around somewhat small islands that are linked via shallow crossings or bridges. This creates bottlenecks all over the map which makes playing defensively fairly easy. However, staying in defense is unlikely to win you the game as each island has limited building room and you will need to seize neighboring islands for additional room to extend your base.
Like the idea, also want more maps where shipyards play a significant role, like in Icefjord.
