The truth is always scarier than ordinary illusions, and the truth is that we, humans, are only a shadow of what we could be. Reality is that we humans have fabricated an elaborate deception in which we live our daily lives. This illusion is so profound that questioning it is completely laughable, but it is extremely important, if we care for our future as creatures of a human nature. Yes, things are that serious. That which defines us as humans is, above all other aspects, our freedom of choice and our ability to express it, freedom that which must extend itself to all the relevant levels of our lives. For example, it really doesn't matter what hairstyle you prefer to use, or what type of music you like to listen to, or what football team is your favorite. What really matters is what you do in life, and if what you do is in essence irrelevant, than one is irrelevant by consequence. In other words, you are nothing more than a piece in a machine, single part of the big mask.
But what is this mask? It is what we usually call society or system. But can one consider the environment in which one lives in as a disguise? Yes when this environment is an artificial construct, created with a certain purpose in mind. In order for this environment to work we all need to be interested in the same things and wish to have or accomplish that which is favorable to the environment, to the system. In this system in which we live in everything is done for us by other people, which in consequence will have everything done for them by us. In this sense we are only pieces in a machine which the only purpose of existing is to exist. Because of this and because of education, which would be better called programming of the human mind, we cannot become who we truly were supposed to become.
But what are the alternatives to an existence of which the only real purpose is to feed this self-centered machine? What is the solution to the problematic of modern slavery? That is the great question, the big puzzle, that I propose for you to solve in the videogame The Mask of Man. In this videogame you will incarnate an S.D.O., also known as a "Systems Data Organizer". You will wake up every day at 7 a.m. and you will work from 8.a.m. to 17.p.m. After that you may buy some things and finally you may sleep. Now, repeat this same process ad infinitum and don't forget to do everything you are told to and enjoy your precious stay. Doesn't it sound interesting? No? Then there's still some hope. What would you do to change this lifestyle? Will you be able to find an alternative? Will you even want to change it? The choice will be yours. In order to help you, you will be able to talk to a number of curious characters which will have interesting and meaningful conversations. In this videogame every problem and dialog doesn't exist only to entertain you but to make you reflect upon your own values and your own life. Hopefully with this videogame I will help people consider what is of true importance for them and I will help them starting to think objectively about certain important contemporary aspects of reality.

Is has been some time now since the last update posted here on IndieDB. The reason for that is due to the fact that I'm waiting for some substantial new content, to avoid talking only about some small changes or to simply avoid ranting about certain themes.
Besides that, in the last months I've been busy with some other creative projects and also work (that in which one earns money). For those reasons it takes a lot more time to be able to create something substantial. Nevertheless, I'm currently in the process of finishing one of those projects and I'll resume work on the Mask of Man as soon as it is completed.
Basically, I wanted just to say that The Mask of Man is still an active project and that it wasn't abandoned.
