"The Legend of The Artifact"

"Many, many years ago, a precious golden treasure, only called The Artifact, brought peace to the land and all it's people, from a place called the Sanctum. However, it was stolen from the people by a strong evil monster called Hypokhrisis. The artifact had great power, and could therefore bring peace, but it could also be used for great evil. Being brung so close to evil like Hypokhrisis after all the time in peace, the artifact created smaller fragments of itself with a small amount of power in each. Four heroes appeared with each their piece, and saved the land from Hypokhrisis and took back The Artifact to the Sanctum, recovering the land back to it's once peaceful state. A long time has passed since then, and only one of the four heroes still remain today."

The Legend of The Artifact is a 2.5D platformer with fighting elements for up to 4 players. An evil wizard has stolen the golden treasure known as The Artifact, which keeps the land in peace and harmony. The legend says that four heroes saved the land last time it happened, and now four new heroes will have to stop the wizard and get back The Artifact to it's shrine, The Sanctum. 

You will play as one of the four heroes; Matt, Chip, Aria or Huey. Play alone or with friends and advance as a team in order to recover The Artifact and defeat the wizard!

TLoTA is estimated to release sometime this summer. TLoTA will also be released on any platform where a license can be acquired. This includes Wii U, Ps4, Xbox One and more, if possible.

I have now uploaded demo version 1.11, and done a whole ton of work not related to the demo. This means that the full release date is getting closer!

The Legend of The Artifact Demo v1.11

Changelog:

- Fixed even more GUI bugs.
- Fixed Scorecube bug in Shady Alley
- Fixed GUI for bosses
- Improved some animation speeds
- Fixed bug with Luna's projectiles
- Fixed the Mr Oarly boss fight
- Fixed timer. It will not reset after restarting from checkpoints, and it pauses when players are dead.
- Power Gloves fixed.
- Power Gloves added to Oarly's shop.
- Fixed weapon bug where weapon count could go below zero after use.
- Updated The Sanctum.
- Added text when loading levels.
- Added new run animation for Matt.
- Added Goldsphere overview on the map menu.
- Credits added.

As you can see, the changelog is pretty big this time around! Still, that is less than half of what I've done since the last update. The rest of the new things are in the full release.

However, that means the release date is getting closer really quickly! TLoTA is a huge game, but I have finally managed to get very close to the release date. I hope to release it on Steam, Desura, and other suitable places if possible.

But as you guys can see the changelog pretty clearly up there, I'll talk a bit about those things that are not listed due to them not being present in the demo.

The Arena & Chuck MacRipped

First off it is the addition of The Arena! I have talked about The Arena before, but there is a few new things now that it is finally becoming reality. First off, the NPC whop hands you the challenges is called Chuck MacRipped.

He is basically a real badass, so don't mess with him. Anyways, he starts off by giving you an enemy challenge per world. After completing world 1 and beating the first boss you unlock enemy challenge #1. The enemy challenge consists of 30 enemies from the respective world.

After beating the game and all enemy challenges you unlock new challenges though! They work differently, as they have several rounds, where you have limited healing items between each battle.
The first of them is the mini boss challenge! This is basically all minibosses in a row (10 in total), which sounds pretty nasty. You'll be able to heal between each battle though, but only until you've used up all items. So try not to get hit too much!

However, it very quickly gets worse. The next challenge after that is the boss challenge. Yep, that means all basic bosses in a row, which means over 10 battles!
But why stop there? After beating all other challenges, completing the game, and also doing something very special, you get another new challenge. This is basically the ultimate challenge, which includes all mini bosses and bosses (both secret and normal at their highest difficulty) in a row with the same amount of healing items to use.

I won't reveal too much about it, but I can say that if you somehow manages to beat TLoTA complete, this will be the ultimate challenge where you can really prove that you are a master of TLoTA. If you get this far you are already great at the game, but beating this last thing here requires some serious skill!

There are some neat extra effect in The Arena though. The Arena is empty in the screenshot, but it is crowded with a large audience during a challenge. And when you win the crowd gives you a huge applause with some neat fireworks. Hurray!

A lot of the stuff I've been working on lately is nothing I can share, so I'll go over to show you some of those new things in the demo.

Loading text added

Loading text has been added. It is visible in the bottom right corner when loading another scene.
Basically just to make sure you know that the game is loading and has not crashed or anything.

Goldsphere overview

Goldsphere overview has been added to the map menu. From here you can see which goldspheres you have collected, so it should be a lot easier to get them all. Only a few levels will be useful to see in the demo though.

I don't have that much more to say for now, but I have the new very special addition to the OST and some new projects to quickly mention!

Delivery Boy's Tale (Working title)

First off there is Delivery Boy's Tale (working title). I have teamed up with iSolsticeDay (http://www.indiedb.com/members/isolsticeday) and made Blob Games! You can check out Blob Games here:

And we are making DBT together after TLoTA and SoA are complete. Check out the page for more info on the game!

The other project is one I am working on alone. It is very early so I cannot show you much more than an artwork as not much else is that presentable yet. It is also still lacking a title.

I can say that it will be a 3rd person shooter, and it will have a pretty strong connection to TLoTA.

I found out some bugs/glitches with the new update.

1. There is a way to get infinite Scorecubes in the town. If you just talk to the man in the shady alley way, you get one million scorecubes.

2. The text is off to the left on the signs within the 3 training rooms.

3. When you click to play the song "Dojo" the song menu closes itself.

The first one is basically just me forgetting stuff. I gotta give myself tons of cubes to test the shops, I knew I'd forget to set it back again afterwards. xP

The text is basically just another piece of the GUI I've forgotten to fix up for different screen sizes. I'll get that fixed.

No idea why it would close itself, but I'll check it out. Probably just a simple error. ;)

I've found some bugs in multiplayer. I was playing the game with 2 of my friends, we were playing on the Icy level.
1. I jumped from a higher part of the map onto one of my friends, and we got stuck inside of each other and no one could move after that.

2. For some reason our characters always moved towards the right without us touching the joystick.

3. On the Icy level, if you walk all the way to the left, you will fall out of the world and just go straight down.

I will post more bugs that I find within the new demo.

I have taken a look at the controller issue. I might have fixed it, as it still works perfectly fine with a Ps3 controller, and it sounds likely for it to work with an Xbox controller as well.

Sadly I have no Xbox controller to test it with, the reason I knew of the issues from before was because a friend of mine brought his Xbox controller with him to play.
I guess I'll just wait until next time he brings his controller to test if it works or not.

I'm guessing you guys used Xbox controllers? The Xbox controllers have some really odd things going on with them in the game. I have no idea why at the moment. I'm still working on that.

The stuck thing doesn't make sense at all. Players can't collide with each other. You guys must have done something else to trigger this. I have noticed that on some occasions nobody can move for some reason though.

Thats just a missing invisible wall. Thats no issue. Just don't go to the left for now. :P

Sorry if those controller issues are ruining the experience for you guys, but there is nothing I can do about it just yet. I will see if I can't fix it sometime, hopefully in the next update at least.

You can play story mode with up to four players. However, you need one controller for each player.

You can also play PVP against each other on various stages that are linked to the story. In PVP you can also change a ton of settings like the gamemode, amount of lives, item spawn frequency and the item switch where you can turn of items in general or specific items.

So I'm not sure if you were aware of it, but TLoTA has a pretty advanced PVP mode in it along with the story mode. Should be able to give hours of fun if you have the controllers for it. ;)
