Throughout the last few weeks I have created a new main quest dungeon which brings the total levels to over fifty. I would say I have about 70% of the physical world completed. In addition, I have also been working really hard on LOE’s in-game dialogue and story. I currently have the beginning quests and dialogue completed. Finally, I have decided to scrap the inner scenes because I was using images from oblivion as placeholders. Instead, I am going to use a Xeen-like style for displaying character dialogue and the such.

Due to changing a few things with the system and making changes to the dialogue, I had to undergo some changes to the instructor dialogue and how it was displayed. To ease time, I decided to create a custom internal database which holds all the speech, name, portraits, etc. If I want to add or edit an instructor all I have to do is all it by a single id number rather then creating an event and adding dialogue and all the data per single event. This saved me hours of work.In addition, I also did a little change with the battle message once again. I find keeping the battle message transparent at the top seems a little more useful rather then every time an attack occurs the message covers the characters.

One thing that needed some changes was the main menu. Here is the new version which now includes the hero portraits and icons.

I have been wanting to do this for a while, but I have been putting it aside. Menus and such now show both the minimum and maximum damage a hero will deal in combat. Originally, only the maximum damage was shown.

I have populated a new region with monsters, treasures, and a couple quests. I am still having problems with the grid inventory system. Therefore, I may have to start from scratch in order to properly fix all of the bugs.I have done some more in-game testing… Unfortunately, it is extremely difficult when it comes to combat. I had to make some more balance changes. I lowered enemy damage and a hero’s level is also added to combat bonus. The way the armor class works makes it very difficult to hit without these changes.I fixed a bug in regards to ground traps. The disarm skill didn’t seem to work correctly and the trap would still go off even though a character’s disarm skill was at a high level.I have changed a few background pictures for a couple areas. This gives LOE some fore variety when it comes to different locations.
