The House of Correction creates an experience that recalls the entertaining immediacy and challenge of the best tile-based dungeon crawlers from the early 90’s. The game mechanics have been updated for a modern audience by adding refined concepts more common in today’s offerings, such as crafting systems and real-time combat synergies, along with hi-res hand drawn artwork and an accessible interface. With a unique, surreal fantasy setting and quirky humour, The House of Correction offers an entertaining and challenging adventure that rewards investment, without requiring it to have fun. The game is currently at a proof of concept prototype stage, for evaluation of some core functionality and “feel” for the experience. As such, the quality and quantity of many resources does not reflect goals for the final game.
