"Developed by the team at Zenimax Online Studios, The Elder Scrolls Online merges the unmatched exploration of rich worlds that the franchise is known for with the scale and social aspects of a massively multiplayer online role-playing game. Players will discover an entirely new chapter of Elder Scrolls history in this ambitious world, set a millennium before the events of Skyrim as the daedric prince Molag Bal tries to pull all of Tamriel into his demonic realm." -GameInformer

What I want is an MMO that ignores formulas. No WoW, no anything, not even RuneScape etc that can be more unconventional. Move the current Elder Scrolls into a multiplayer world. Figure out a way to handle respawning and then you are good. No more needed.

Amen! Preach it! I am SOOOOOO sick of WoW knock offs. LOTRO was pretty good. But now, it has gotten ridiculous. None of these MMO developers have any stones. They always chicken out of doing anything innovative and just go copy paste WoW to their design. Mortal Online is the only - I repeat: THE ONLY - fantasy MMO that truly ignores convention in its entirety. It combines the player driven world of EVE with the real time combat of TES and similar titles. It is still young and is an indie title, but it has a lot of potential and is really the only viable alternative to this WoW knock off mess.

Also, the visual inconsistency of ESO is gonna be a huge issue. Areas already done bare a striking resemblance to their single player counter parts. But areas outside of there are straight up Everquest II knock off design. Just sad. Just. Sad.

Don't be so quick to judge.. none of us have had a chance to try it out yet. it might not be like all the others it might be pretty sweet, just hope they'll give us a beta to see for our selves.

I'd probably just play it because I want to explore the whole world, I'm not a big fan of MMORPG, I prefer the single player adventure, But it would be fun to go through with my mate who is just as big of an Elder Scrolls fan as i am.

I really hope they'll switch the way their going to present the game. I'm tired of MMO's that just copy Everquest and WoW. I want the good ol' Elder Scrolls. Like what they did for everything they made so far, I do see begging of a multiplayer Elder Scrolls, Hell I'm one of the ones who begs to see the day a game like Morrowind, Oblivion, or Skyrim would be made multiplayer, in how it is was when it was presented. Not some Reskined WoW clone with some Elder Scroll lore mixed in. I want it how it is already. No barriers, I want to be able to attack everything and everyone(And NOT with a auto target), with the only thing to stop me is their recurring wraith, and maybe some guards and vigilantes. Levels that block off use of weapons/armor? Hell no, etc etc.

I don't care if you use the Cartoonish look. But don't you dare ruin the awesome gameplay that is the elderscrolls with mixing it with... That. I'll watch this, But if it keeps going on it's current course. I'll be damned if I pay for something like a WoW clone.

From what I've seen and heard, it is going to be everything us Elder Scrolls fans don't want. No first person, tab targeting, actionbars on the screen with 500 abilities, players do not influence anything in the world, no player housing, no sleeping at inns, the environment is barely be interacted with, etc.

Don't get me wrong, I love the fact that a game is being made like DAoC with hardcore PVP/RVR. But why the hell did they have to do it under the Elder Scrolls IP? This may be the death of the Elder Scrolls series as we know it...

Even if this game flops, I don't think it will be the end of the Elder Scrolls at all. Hopefully, Bethesda Softworks will continue going strong with their old-fashioned Elder Scrolls formula after this.

Well course I'm still going to love every other elder scroll game that does keep to Elder scrolls goodness. But I heard that if... "This" dosent go well, It'll do quite a bit of finacial harm their way.

They should just stick with continuing to make good, solid single-player games. True character development and story (and actual enjoyable combat, for that matter) is almost always tossed to the wayside when it comes to MMO's.

This game won't be all that enjoyable, just FYI.
