Story - Mind Blowing
Soundtrack - Fantastic
Style - Unique and Refreshing
My jaw dropped on several occasions during this game. It is so worth playing, I cannot say this enough. It is so refreshing and I am so happy I decided to by this game on a whim. It's disturbing in just the right amount, excellent twists, characters that are relatable and you actually care about. The art style is so interesting and beautiful, the use of color and lack thereof in certain parts and the soundtrack! I knew instantly that I would love this game when the credits rolled. Just so shocking and awesome! This game is better than most big budget titles I've played before. There are only a few flaws: the way to the objective can become unclear sometimes and the save system isn't perfect, but these flaws are easily forgivable. I LOVE THIS GAME!
This game was incredible with very superb voice acting. It painted such a surreal picture in my mind of a persons life and its difficulties. The game was had so much real emotion in it that it almost made me depressed! Along with that the game does fancy some decent puzzles and while the game ends the same it does have multiple ways to the ending, which slightly changes the dialogue at the end. I also loved David Firth as the Animal Control man :) .
This game is AMAZING! The story is unbelievably detailed, and totally disturbing! I love it. I have never heard a game with such great voice acting as well, even many of the PS3 games and other highly "polished" games with huge spending budgets have not come close to the story line, and "believability" of the actors voices. Beyond that the game is unique, as it is a "movie" that you are taking part in. The illustrations are amazing, and this also makes it quite unique. The puzzles have been quite hard for me to figure out at times, although other players on here always seem to have the answer, so that must just be me, missing the obvious! It also seems to be a decent length. I am at Chapter 4 and believe there are at least three more chapters. Just like any great movie, or game, I never want it to end! This game doesn't even feel like an alpha build, it seems completely finished while playing it, and I cannot wait to see any improvements made, since it is perfect as is. The only thing I could ever want them to add is more chapters, and a walkthrough posted somewhere so I don't have to keep emailing the developer my questions! He has been very gracious in answering them all for me too-food for thought if you buy it and get stuck (I'd be willing to help you too) SO, buy this game! You will not regret it, and it deserves your support! :)
I am ashamed to admit that I'm not a big Adventure Game fan, despite loving the story for many of them I just don't find the gameplay interesting most of the time. But this here, this is special.
The level of maturity and absolute quality of the writing for the game, mixed with enjoyable gameplay and outstanding visual art direction is so impressive that I've honestly changed my opinion on indie games as a whole. If we view games as an art form, then let this game lead that view as we head forward because I will gladly play more games of this caliber.
Without spoiling anything, the characters are unique and relate able and remind you of people you've at least known at one point or another in your life, the puzzles I struggle to even call puzzles, as they just feel so fluid and part of the story.
Over the top praise aside- I really enjoyed it, the dark humor and serious moments mixed together so well and the dialog choices always felt right.
A modern day macabre masterpiece. I don't throw the word masterpiece around lightly, but I feel it fits perfectly for this game. It's refreshing to see a truly mature and intelligent game. The game frequently delves into some sick and disturbing situations, and yet can still pull off a heartfelt sweetness at times.
The story is an incredible gothic revenge and redemption story that had me completely engrossed. The graphics are good for what they're trying to accomplish, very stylized. Animations can sometimes be a bit jarring but you get used to it quickly.
As far as audio goes, the music and voice acting are superb. If you enjoy a good twisted dark fantasy just play it, no review can give it justice.
Not recommended for the squeamish or those easily unsettled by dark and depraved violent scenes.
This game is purely amazing with it's multiple endings, it's indepth story line, creative graphics, great music, and even the little details of the game with the mystery elements. I have watched Cry (Chaoticmonki) play this on youtube, I loved it so much I bought it after the last episode.
