Just in time for the awards (although that turned out to be a coincidence), we have a new campaign for you to download. Exactly, CONTENT!!! "The Relic" is a 4 mission campaign made by HLP User Slasher and does not only feature innovative mission design but is already fully voice-acted! I love our community :-)
What are you waiting for?
You can get it in our forum or right here, so download it NOW!
(and the Zathras package too, if you have not already. Check the previous news for info about that, since it is required for this campaign.)
Have fun and don't forget to leave some feedback in the forum, as well as voting for TBP.
Let's take a quick look back: 09 has been good for TBP, let's hope 2010 will be another great time for our favorite game. The next big project for the team is still DVD 2.0, since the old release is somewhat outdated by now. No release date yet, we will keep you informed as usual. And who knows what else awaits us?
Anyway...
Wishing you all a Happy New Year!
Or as the German say (translated), "I wish you a Happy Slide."
Interpret that any way you want to :-)

do you need freespace2 to play it ?
How are the controls set up?
Are you asking how they are setup or what controls you use?
You set up the controls by hitting F2 and selecting control config.
You can use keyboard/joystick, keyboard/mouse or even just keyboard. Other configurations like multiple controllers can be achieved using the mapping software for your controller to bind the control function to a key.
some space shooters are wonky for keyboards.....and I don't have any controllers.
Well some people actually prefer keyboard only or keyboard and mouse. I personally use keyboard and joystick. The only advice I can give you is try it.
other people prefer full keyboard, like myself.
You can change the layout (and the cockpit setup by the way) in the Options Menu.
What are the system specs?
Pentium 3 600 MHz or equivalent
256 MB RAM
Microsoft Windows 98/ME/2000/XP
DirectX 8.1 compatible 3D hardware accelerator card with "Hardware Transformation and Lightning" (HT&L) support
DirectX 8.1 compatible 16-bit sound card
2gig MB hard drive space
Joystick
DirectX 8.1 or newer installed
OpenAL installed
Note: Due to the nature of "fs2_open" which is being developed by the Freespace community, "fs2_open" is a rapidly developing engine and system requirements may change accordingly. Release 3 will also include "fred2_open", an enhanced version of FRED2 for creating your own missions.
In addition to that A video card that supports OpenGL is highly recommended. More then 2gig is also require for the DVD version.
Brilliant editing!
You've put so much work into this over the years and it really shows.
In terms of gameplay, I've never been a fan of FS2's and I'm firmly in the IFH camp, but this has so much going for it in other areas!
Well done.
If you don't mind head over to Hard-light.net and post the error along with your system specs. We can usually solve the problem.
