Set in the far future where terraforming is a huge business, you start as a student, learning the craft of terraforming and strive to become the biggest of them all. Work your way through over 200 different planets, starting with the basics at Terraform University and moving on to employment and even starting your own business. Alter the environment of the planets by using tools like settlers, asteroid impacts and controlling the wind. Create planet sized forest fires and giant hurricanes by controlling the weather conditions of the planets.

Terraform was released on PC in early 2012 and a new version on Android in December of 2012. Three years after the initial release on PC the definitive version is coming to Steam on May 8th!

Since being greenlit by the community in January the PC version has been updated and refined to meet the standards of the Steam platform.
Here are some of the most notable additions and changes:

  • Level editor
  • Steam workshop integration
  • Updated UI art
  • Improved audio feedback
  • Volume control
  • Animations to forests, lava, forest seeds
  • New fire particles
  • New menu design
  • Redesigned some planets

Terraform will release on Steam on May 8th for $2.99.

Thanks for your time!

I have a similar problem. I am running my desktop at 1024x768 on an old 17 inch crt. I can't get to the right bar with the "Menu", "Choose Weather" and "Turn" buttons. It is like the mouse is blocked. If I play in windowed mode and make the window very small then it works. But then the text of the guy that is talking to me in the first level (tutorials) is getting very small.

Also the settings are not saved it seems. If I change to fullscreen, quit and restart again then it still starts as windowed.

Playing demo only at the moment but I would buy it since it is cheap and looking interesting. But only if something can be done about the bugs with the mouse, don't want to make the window very small.

Similar thing on my notebook. Actually, in the demo released before the game launch, I was able to fiddle with the resolution to reach the buttons. But with later versions (includung the full game), this did not work anymore.

I have encountered that problem with other game built with gamemaker. But not all of them.

No. Not working. If it is small window I can move the mouse to the right but I can't click the turn button. Also it seems the mouse is outside the window too. 2 mouse cursors. One in the game window and one outside that is reaching the border of the desktop at the right. As if the cursor was not locked correctly into the game. Should be only in the game. And only if pressing a key be free to move outside the game again(or Alt+Tab out of the game if you are in fullscreen).

Is it possible for you to change the resolution to 1280x720? That is the resolution the game is designed for. If not, then I'm afraid there isn't much you can do about it at the moment. I'll try to get a fix for this is the next update, but if you play at a lower resolution than it was designed for, the text might still be small and distorted.
Thanks for playing!

Resolution is a tad-off for small screens. You need 1280x720 resolution to run the game which limits the game allot!

I like the game play a lot, but I'm getting a serious graphical bug on the demo.
The hexagon graphics are being shown as square blocks, i.e. there's the hexagon image surrounded by black to make it square so that it all over laps and looks horrible.
More importantly though, is that only one hexagon graphic shows, i.e. the green or red outline graphics override the graphic of whatever terrain the hexagon is, so that all the outlined hexes just look black.

I hope that there is a fix to this because I like the game, but this bug makes it pretty much unplayable.

I've had this problem before! I think you need to update your video card drivers. That fixed it for me. Let me know how it goes!

That worked, cheers!
I should probably try and remember to keep my drivers up to date!

With the editor, can you make the 'planet' larger than the normal size?

Yes !
I can't wait trying more of it.
Actually my dream game would be something similar, scriptable, and with a limited number of actions per turn.
