I made a quick bugfix release. These bugs are pretty annoying, so I would suggest you download it. Here's some gifs to entice you!

Play the Web version on Kongregate

GAME OVER MANGAME OVER MANGAME OVER MANTrue Doom Murderhead

== 1.3.1 CHANGELIST (Mar 16 2013) ====Bugfixes only... but important bugfixes!

  • Fix : A bug in joystick detection code made it so that keyboard-controlled co-op players would always attack towards the mouse pointer if no joysticks were connected
  • Fix : Elite enemies (depth 5 and lower) were much less elite than intended. They now have x2 the hitpoints and do x2 the damage of normal enemies.
  • Fix : If a new player joins mid-game, they will no longer join unarmed.
  • Fix : Origin of bullets for special attacks would sometimes be in the completely wrong direction.

I love the concept and execution of this game! Thanks for compiling a Linux version too. :)

I have a few suggestions:

The title screen really needs some polishing.
- You can't press spacebar to start the menu when it's displaying the credits, so you have to sit there and wait or restart the game.
- It would be nice if you could use the mouse or keyboard or controller at any point instead of only the keyboard for spacebar then only the mouse to click a button.
- It also doens't seem to handle differing aspect ratios, so everything looks squished on my screen. This seems carries over into the GUI in-game, but I think that might be more the low resolution of the sprites.

The gameplay is pretty damn solid, but a few issues:
- Would be helpful to have rebindable keys. I can't move with my Logitech F310 controller, so I have to use software to map it to the keyboard.
- There are occasional graphical glitches, especially when an enemy is stopped next to a trap it doesn't want to pass.
- The directional aiming doesn't exactly line up with where the mouse is; it's like the mouse is floating a few metres above the level of your guy. This is kind of tricky to get used to for weapons with ranged attacks.

Despite all that, it's a very enjoyable game and surprisingly replayable. Looking forward to future updates!

Hey man, huge roguelike fan here... loving the game and all the ideas behind it! It's kind of my 'dream'game - a mashup of roguelikes and Dynasty Warriors (but more challenging than DW and with nice flourishes of the SWOOOORD xD and stuff).

Two minor complaints. One, I don't have an XBOX360 controller. Could you use computer notation (e.g. Button 1) or PlayStation notation (X, O, et al)? I have a cheap PS2/USB controller from Trust, the hardware manufacturer. Most gamepads that connect via USB actually use PlayStation notation.

Additionally, I found myself a bit better with the gamepad than mouse and keyboard and the handicap of co-operative is pretty extreme for when you are playing alone. Could you please support the gamepad in single-player mode? I would also like to be able to start the game without having to lean and press the spacebar.

Thanks! I love your game, please work on it more. You released 5 games this year - just remember, quality > quantity. If you decide to give up on it you could open source it since it is already free of charge - you never know, someone may pick it up (and it will get more press in the Linux world!). Again, great game, keep up the great work.

OMG! You replied you legend :333

One more thing, can you stop javelineers (for lack of a better word) from getting up on the walls? Collision bug.

Also, I've been playing this a lot on my father's laptop. I notice that COINS cause lots of slowdown. It's probably your implementation. I do some scripting (never really made aprogram) in Ruby myself (which by the way *is brilliant*, check out Gosu framework), and I know optimisation sucks but the lag gets pretty awful at depth 5+ (gotten to depth 7 so far). Please fix the coin slowdown!

And finally a little feature request. Can we have a proper highscore board? As in listing all of them somewhere (don't really care for online leaderboards, the guys on there are usually crooks or losers)? SQLite is your friend. :)

Idiot me! Meant an HID controller, like my cheapo trust. And make sure it work with Linux, I'm not sure how Unity handles low level stuff like input (I'm on holidays right now and my family's laptop has Windows). Regards.
