Superku is a fresh take on the classic side-scrolling platformer genre. It features an easy to learn, yet very difficult to master jump'n'run gameplay. Control Superku and climb a sheer endless tower full of danger and adventure as you jump, swim, roll, (wall)run and blast through over 40 varied stages.

Small status update: The intro sequence for Superku is done and has been uploaded to indieDB, go check it out! The video introduces the three main characters of the game, the villain with the jetpack, the game's hero Superku and his teddy bear who loses control of his plane and has to be rescued in the first part of the game.
The skateboard level has been updated too and beta testing revealed that the high score requirement to pass the stage has to be lowered by approximately 90%, who would have thought that?
A few features and facts: The game will feature 41 levels and all of them will have an unlockable alternative, even harder version. The approximate playtime until the player sees the closing credits or until the player reaches the final 3-5 levels (as they get really, really hard) is 5hours.
There will be 45+ collectibles and secrets waiting to be discovered and online leaderboards that track three best times per player per level (normal, hard and Pelzku (= collectible) version). The game will have a configurable 3 or 4 button scheme keyboard control + arrow keys and alternatively full gamepad support. Although Shader Model 3.0 graphics cards will be required, 128MB video memory should be enough to play the game with all effects activated.
Seriously! More people should check out this game! It looks like a lot of hard work is going into it and it looks pretty cool.

Thanks a lot my friend!
Game looks pretty interesting. Nice gravity mechanics, and I like the water mechanics, as well. You might want to try 'spicing up' the old-school sounds - they don't quite fit the graphics to me. Perhaps if you added a slight reverb to them? Anyway, good job so far! I'm tracking this!
This game reminds me of Super Mario World 2: Yoshi's Island. Have you ever played that game? I suggest you do, you could pick up some really good ideas there.
EDIT: By the way, I am still looking forward to defeating your challenge:
"I highly doubt that anybody who wants to finish the game will be able to complete it as it becomes so difficult."
@SheridanR: Yes, I've played it but only as a child, it's probably a good idea to give it another go.
Hehe yes, that's a statement caused by my mediocre English. Replace "anybody" with "everybody" and you'll get what I wanted to say. Nevertheless, I think the game will be a tough challenge even for high skilled players.
Ah, I see. You shouldn't feel ashamed of your English though, it is really very good. In fact if I didn't know you were German I would have already assumed it was your first language. :)
