Open source racing game with a track editor. It focuses on closed rally tracks with possible stunt elements (jumps, loops, pipes). You can drive in Single-Player mode racing against the clock or completing championships. There is also an online Multi-Player mode.

Stunt Rally 2.1 is released and after neglecting to update Desura for too long, it's now also available here. For some pretty pictures, visit the gallery at

The changelog for this one is the longest ever! You can check it out in full at (there are also the changes from previous releases that were not uploaded to Desura).

Contentwise, there's lots of new tracks and cars. The most awesome gameplay additions in my opinion are a prerecorded ghost on all tracks, a beam to guide you to the next checkpoint and a first version of a car damage system. On the graphical side, brake lights now have flares, there's an adaptive FOV effect when boosting and the GUI has received some improvements. Under the hood we have a new input implementation and simulation tweaks and then there's numerous editor improvements, bug fixes and whatnot.

Feel free to take it for a spin and give feedback so that we can make the next version even better.

Seems to be a great game the control system is excellent, and tonnes of options for tracks and setups etc.

My pc is Core i5 750 series 4x2.66GHz 4x2GB DDR3 dual channel P55 chipset motherboard Nvidia GTX 570 1280MB SATA 2 HD's windows 7 x64bit, the framerates seem to be impacted alot when adjusting settings, in ultra i get 13 fps on high about 35-40 fps..

Not sure if it is a driver issue i am using driver version 296.10 WHQL nvidia win7 x64 bit drivers.

No AV applications running neither is there any other background apps running, i can only think this is one of two things - my driver revision 296.10 are not handling the game engine well or this game is not utilising the gfx card properly or the game is CPU limited and only using 1 core / non multithreaded?

I think there are optimisation problems (probably in OGRE). I get around 10 fps on GeForce 8200 and dual-core CPU at 2 Ghz.

Glad you liked the game.

the reason it is slow on Ultra is the game is using DirectX 9 on windows to reach a variety of hardware .so some of the techniques used here like Softparticles ,SSAO would be much more optimized if DX10 or 11 is used .we are working on adding DX11 support but it is in the experimental stages though.
this release of the game uses multi threading for physics ,a lot more optimization to come when we use it everywhere

thanks for the detailed reply, i deleted the game.cfg and tried again without manually changing stuff except landscape details and folaige i increased and i got 140 fps on average on very high.

I would assume me manually changing settings with SSAO etc to the ultimate settings caused the low fps and a game restart rather than just clicking apply is really what was needed i found for the changes to take proper effect and give me back my fps.

All up i am glad to see such a rally game and look forward to the roadmap ahead with development you guys have done an astounding job witht he amount of detail on offer.)
