You'll build planetary bases, starbases, fortresses, houses, forts... all flying the flag of your Customized Faction. Your decisions will shape the course of history in the Known Universe... your ultimate goal... your Faction's Flag flying high over every corner... every planet... your Faction... Supreme.

Welcome back to the official development update on Atomization and Replication in StellarBrink.
Crafting or Replication, as it is called in StellarBrink, is comprised of three different screens: the Atomic Storage Screen, the Atomizer Control Screen and the Replicator Control Screen. Each one of these screens are controlled by a Replication Console. The Replication Console senses which placed replicators or atomizers are connected to it and displays the controls for each one in the drop down Replication Controls GUI access by the player when they selected a Replication Console Tile.
When I sat down to create the crafting system for StellarBrink I wanted something new, something different. I really didn't care for Minecraft's crafting system, because I didn't like having to search the internet for the layouts of each recipe. I love Minecraft and it is one of the games that inspired me to create StellarBrink, but I wanted a new crafting system. I loved playing Terraria as well, but its crafting system still required too much... gather this and that for me. I was think about crafting and then decided to look into the periodic table... and from then on I was hooked. I decided to create a crafting system by breaking down items, Atomizing them, to their atomic forms and then reconstructing them, or Replicating, them back into new items.
Atomic Storage is the place where all the elements you atomize from items is stored. You can increase this capacity by creating new Atomic Storage Units and view your storage from the Atomic Storage Screen. This provides one location to view what you have and easily figure out what you need for blueprints, etc...
The Atomizer is a device which reverts Items back into their basic atomic elements. So pretty much any item in the game can be recycled at a loss of some of the elements. This provides some balance to the game and keeps the players searching the Universe for more items to atomize.
Yes, replication started with Star Trek and to pay homage to one of the greatest (and my favorite) sci-fi shows of all time, I thought that with Atomization you'd need to put those atoms back together, hence replicating them. The Replication screen shows you all of the Blueprints that you own, and the required atomic elements that are needed to replicate the item. It also shows you how much of each element required for a blueprint that you currently have in your Atomic Storage. This makes it very easy to figure out what you have and what you need to replicate a specific item.
This concludes the development update for Atomic Storage, Atomization, and Replication in StellarBrink. Please visit our Kickstarter page and consider funding this great game and spread the word to everyone... cause I'm not that good at marketing. :)- Kolester, Designer/Creator of StellarBrink
