StellarBrink is a game about surviving a Universal War between various Factions. You, as the player, start out alone with your trusty starship. You've broken away from the major factions controlling and waring over the Known Universe and formed your own splinter faction. Now with your sights set on survival and conquest, you head out to make a name for yourself and for your faction. You'll align yourself, and sometimes beak those alignments with the major and minor factions of the Known Universe. As your Faction gains territories, one planet at a time, your influence and hold on the universe will grow. You'll build planetary bases, starbases, fortresses, houses, forts... all flying the flag of your Customized Faction. Your decisions will shape the course of history in the Known Universe... your ultimate goal... your Faction's Flag flying high over every corner... every planet... your Faction... Supreme.

StellarBrink, at its heart, is a game about mining, crafting, and building... but it is also a game about Universal War. As humans scatter across the stars, they tore themselves from each other forming Factions of humanity. These Factions rage a never ending war for universal territory, some to try to bring peace and some battle just for the thrill and glory.
Each of the current 38 sectors in StellarBrink is divided into 50 solar systems, with each solar system having a range of planets, starbases, etc. StellarBrink is like a massive game of king-of-the-hill or capture the flag. As the players move around the Universe it is their underlying goal to capture territory for their desired faction, at the time. Each player has what is called Faction Alignment for each of the Factions in the game. Based on their actions those alignments change. For instance, attacking a Pirate Starship lowers your alignment with the Pirate Faction. The lower your alignment to a Faction... the higher the chance that they are going to consider you a foe. Capturing territory involves claiming Control Points, either on planets, starbase, or any other point of interest in the Sector. Once all the Control Points are captured that Sector becomes that Factions territory. The Universe Map will reflect this in game to show which Faction is ruling the galaxy at any given time.
