Thanks! Unigine is being evaluated. It's not simple to work with, and if you noticed, there is no other game has come out, using Unigine. The engine has been out for a long time. It was out since Steel Storm began it's life on the des doc. Yet, no game has been made using it. Kinda suspicious, isn't it?
Last thing we want is to switch to Unigine and get stuck because the engine is raw and too complex for a small team to work with it.
Btw, the new game is shaping up. Check Kot-in-action.com for some screenshots.

Syndicates of Arkon looks dated :/ Didn't expect for devs to use Unigine for that kind of looking game. Oil Rush is developed by engine creators, so that doesn't count (I would be surprised if they would not be able to develop a game using their own engine :P )
I expect for unigine to be used for projects of Gears of War / Crysis / RAGE caliber. If no one is using it in such projects, there gotta be a good reason behind it.
The major issue is that Unigine is not for a small indie team. I looked into the game logic code and I was totally lost. In QuakeC, menu mouse initialization takes one function call. In Unigine it takes whole page of code. Plus I can't use Blender in it's art assets pipeline. That's like a huge minus for us.

The game is still being developed. I have been out of the country for a month and then the team got together first time in 3 years in Seattle, during PAX. So all the work has been done during that time has yet to be revealed.
The DLC is coming in the form of a short mission pack with new levels, enemies, maybe a new weapon, and a new storyline. We will make an announcement soon.

The good: ========= -Polished: good graphics, sound and gameplay -Challenging enough without being too challenging. -Translated into a lot of languages and you can add your own. -Collaborative mission editor, also works while playing! -DRM-free -Uses GPLed darkplaces engine (also means you should be able to do lots of modding, additionally to the available in-game editor.) -Cross-platform. Runs natively (and perfectly) on GNU/Linux. The singleplayer alone is definitely worth the cheap price. If…
