Welcome to StaudSoft's Synthetic World 0.1! This is the first release of my Open World Sandbox Game. It allows you via a seed to create a unique landscape with mountains, oceans, trees and beaches. Although it looks like a normal game engine, everything in the game is based on voxels. So everything you see can be changed. You can cut down trees, build a house or dig into the ground!

Hey it has been a long time since my last update. But I wasn't lazy. I used the time which was needed to found my own company to add a lot of new features. I will present them you in the next weeks. So today I have explosives. These can be placed anywere you want. Then you can detonate them instantly (could hurt) or in 5 or 30 seconds.

Of course you can also detonate them by firing at them if you have a pistole. Enjoy the video!

This is a feature of the upcoming 0.2 release. If you want to download the current version just check out the following links:

Really cool! The last game I played on a voxel based engine was "outcast". It was probably also the only one I played on an engine that uses only voxels.
Your engine looks cool, but how does the importing custom models work? Will it translate polygons into voxels on import or how could we work with it?

I have a complete polygon engine in my system (see Youtube.com ). In the last months I wrote a COLLADA Loader. So you can make models with Blender or any other 3D Software. I support skinned models with animation. And I added a java plugin system.

The voxels are translated to polygons before they are rendered. So I can use the normal GPU.

Could you please include the required PC specifications somewhere in the description ?

Depending on how you are planing on creating everything, you may find use of the the massive collection of monsters, from the Unreal engine modding scene.
Unreal Tournament 2004 has all sorts of monsters, zombies, dinosaurs, dragons and creepy-crawlies.
Check this collection.
