StarForge Release

We are proud to announce that we are releasing StarForge today! After many years of hard work, dreams and determination, we are releasing the 1.0 of StarForge. This would not have been possible without the help of the community, fans, and supporters of our game through its various phases over the years.

Two and a half years ago, Will and Steve were working out of a basement part time on the game, and then the game exploded online, giving us the opportunity of a lifetime to finally make the game we've always wanted to build. A year after that, we managed to increase to a team of 4 developers. And after the launch on Early Access, managed to build a small company which has been working to bring you the StarForge release today. This would not have been possible without the hard work and efforts of a tireless development team, and your continued support.

We understand that at times we bit off a bit more than we could chew, and certain areas took quite some time to build and test. It goes without saying that this has been a vast learning experience for us all. We really appreciate everyone's patience and support during the development stretch. We are glad to have participated as one of the first few games to launch the Early Access section on Steam, and to learn and develop with the community over the past year and a half. We plan to exit Early Access within the next few days. We also plan to no longer sell the Founders Club upon, or shortly after release, depending on how quickly Steam can remove it. We only want the Founders Club to contain exclusive rewards for early supporters.


We believe we have put in some super cool and innovative technology and gameplay, including an Infinite Procedural World, Voxel Digging, Real-Time Atmosphere, Procedural Asteroids, Tunnels, Caves, Mountains, Biomes, Physics Movement, Vehicles, Tons of Guns, Creatures, and Objects, and so much more! All of this works with both single player and multiplayer. It has been a labor of love, we are glad to have progressed this far, and we really enjoy playing the release version. We will continue to monitor the game, and plan to do another update in the future with bug fixes. Further updates will depend on future sales of the game.


Over the past few months, while in Beta, we have fixed the majority of the critical and major bugs, and this release contains hundreds more bug fixes and many new features.

- 19 Song Original Soundtrack Completed

- Dynamic Loading Screen

- Frame Rate Optimizations

- More realistic Terrain and Biome Generation

- Blocks Have Better Performance

- Badges (Founders Club, IndieGoGo)

- More Dedicated Server Console Commands and Config Options

We've also finished and implemented our IndieGoGo and Founders club rewards. IndieGoGo backers must link their account in-game in order to receive their digital perks; Steam purchasers do not need to worry about this as all updates are channeled via Steam.. As for the Digital Rewards (wallpapers, art book, strategy guide, soundtrack), we will be providing a link to the download for these in the next month as we are still putting the finishing touches on them. We will release another blog post about that when they are done.

The hard assets (T-Shirts, Posters) for IndieGoGo backers are also being developed. We have already reached out to everyone involved regarding these rewards. Thanks for becoming our first founder romnus! I put your name up on a new credits section on our website(it's under the Game Info tab). You'll get your unique weapon variations once we release the base weapons. It will also be listed in the game too when the base game is released. If you don't want your name listed let me know.

The store and everything will be ingame once we release the base game, so it will be easy for you to spend those points on the new content as it arrives. We hope to release an early version of the base game in a few weeks. And we have tons of paid and non-paid content indev right now. :D

Awesome, I sent you an E-Mail with my real name. I have never been immortalized in the credits of a videogame before, Thank you for this oppurtunity. I am of coarse EXTREMELY excited about the game, and all the unlocks and things, but being in the credits is also a nice perk. :P Also, I can't wait to check out the soundtrack and silas. You guys have done an amazing job, and I hope you get more founders soon. :D

This is going to be really huge if all goes well. :) I love what I've seen so far. And the tech demo is preety fun. In the building one, in a matter of minutes I arranged a level that I would actualy try. :P I'm going to love this game!

Dang it, man! I wish I had the time to apply for play-testing this game, but I'm too busy ATM with my job, my playtesting position with the Tiberian Genesis mod team, and my life to dedicate time for serious play-testing duties with another game.

Regarding the footage you have available, HOLY SHOOT!!! This looks like it could turn out like Minecraft mixed with the gameplay of Star Wars: Battlefront II and III (III was supposed to have seamless planetary transitions, meaning you could take your starfighter from the ground into space and vice-versa)!

Also, how might one donate some money to you guys? I'd imagine there are some people, myself included, who would seriously consider doing so if there was a way.

Thanks for your interest guys, our ground to space transitions are in realtime and down the line we want to put flight in some form or another. I personally find NASA and the space program interesting, so I kinda think that if we did flight it wouldn't be the start and stop kind but rather have momentum and have to land like a shuttle would on an airstrip that you would have to build. :)

So then totally a team could build in outer space then battle a team down below on the planet or a team building underground. :|)

As for donations, that is really sounds great but I think what would be even better for everyone is we are gonna add a simple store in the next couple of weeks that will have a great promotion for very early alpha supporters. Since were gonna be F2P were gonna sell points that can be used to buy heroes, skins, and sandbox packs.

But since were mostly doing the groundwork for the game right now and back end stuff, the store would be like a preorder of points of sorts. With perhaps a few bonus put in it on top of the great deals like Minecraft had in its indev phases. That way by helping us out earlier we'll reward you in time with some really cool stuff down the line in SF.
