I've played Star Wars Battlefront 2 open beta, it was amazing. The new space control was perfect for me, i've been analyzed a bit and thinked about it.
Many of you mentioned the controls, so i took the time to implement a similar system. Currently theres an early version of it. If you wish to try out, you can find it here.

This version is very different what you saw before. Theres lot of work have to be done.
For the next build the default controls will be mouse + keyboard.
What do you think about the new controls ?
Thank You a lot for Mouse/Keyboard controls implementing! It goes without saying, that, it is primary method for PC players - everybody has a mouse and keyboard :) I love flightsticks, and I think every flying game should have support for such natural flying gear, but - in this case, it is wish for next time, right? :)
I did a short test with this new build, and, for my liking - mouse+keyboard works very well! I did not notice any immediate faults (no "stickyness" or "wooden" feel). Will fly around more tonight.
P.S.: I know, this is a rough test build, just to test controls, but - imperial shuttle just flew right thru Star Destroyer body! Hehehe... ;)
After playing some more (not much yet), I say mouse controlled movement is good. I could safely guess, that someone will ask for sensitivity slider, so that might be good idea to implement.
I also posted this on my blog (also it goes to Twitter):

so maybe more people catching up with this test build.
Awesome update!! It was umplayable before. It would be really nice if you inverted the Y axis though (or let the player choose at least).
Well. Finally I can record some more of this for BattlefrontESP
Actually there is an option for it, you can find the it.
Options -> Controls -> invert
This is the only one option in this tab.
Oh! Interesting. I'll try to search for it. Thanks.
Not controls related, but I could suggest one settings option to be implemented better sooner than later - start in cockpit view / start in 3rd person view.
Another thing - controls related. I suspect, controls become active some split-second before level visually starts, so I found myself already turning / pointing somewhere. Need some initial stability moment :)
