A spin-off of Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast, Jedi Academy allows players to create their own Jedi, train in the Academy under the tutelage of Luke Skywalker and Kyle Katarn and ultimately choose to follow the path of the Light Side or the Dark Side of the Force. The game is powered by the same version of the Quake III engine used in its predecessor, Jedi Outcast, containing modifications to the Quake code to give a third-person view and new lightsaber effects (Jedi Knight II had these 3rd person effects as well). Players have the ability to construct their own lightsaber by choosing the hilt style and blade color. After completing certain objectives, new saber styles become available including the ability to wield two independent sabers in a style known as Jar'Kai, once used by Anakin Skywalker during the closing fight in Star Wars Episode II: Attack of the Clones, or the double-bladed lightsaber (also known as a "saber staff").

For the past year, over 150 players have been working on the creation of the Jedi Knight Hub. JKHub is an attempt to create a central website for all things Jedi Academy and (to a lesser extent) Jedi Outcast related. For the past year, over 150 players have been working on the creation of the Jedi Knight Hub. JKHub is an attempt to create a central website for all things Jedi Academy and (to a lesser extent) Jedi Outcast related. At the moment, we have over 1200 player-made mods online (all with permission), several of which are exclusive to our site.JKHub offers a large number of services, such as:

  • Free webhosting. We're currently hosting a large number of Jedi Knight related sites already.
  • JK3.in: a service that allows you to connect to a server's name (like 'servername.jk3.in') instead of an IP address
  • The JKHub Network: a network of websites driving visitors to each other and helping each other grow, linked together by the JKHub Bar.
  • Tutorials not available on any other website. Always wanted to learn how to create skins or map mods? We have all the resources you need for that. And if we're missing something, you can add new tutorials yourself as well.
  • A directory of links that can be used by communities to advertise and drive more visitors to their site
  • A calendar, which clans and communities can use to make eachother aware of upcoming events
  • A forum to discuss anything Jedi Knight related

...And much more. We'd love to get people from moddb, as well as many others, involved in JKHub. Now that we've opened up, we'll be providing lots of cool stuff, including news, exclusive interviews, and possibly even ingame events. In short: we'd really appreciate it if you'd take five minutes to come check us out. And if you like the place, why not register and say hello? We also created the following infographic to further explain what JKHub is all about. Click it to view the full-sized version:

Jedi Outcast (Question)
While examining the walk-through for Jedi Outcast, I noticed that ns-streets secret area 6 cannot be accessed without cheat codes. (The jump height isn't compatible with force-jump-1 (Requires force-jump-2)
Does anyone know how to use the "Level-Editor" for Jedi Outcast so that the ns-streets level could be set to force-jump-2 from force-jump-1 where it is currently set. Or alternatively the level editor could be used to reduce the jump height required to jump from the garbage hauler to the canopy-covered-red-chute where secret area 6 is located. If anyone knows how to accomplish either of these editing changes, it would be nice to fix the level to make it
play as the designers had intended.
