This fix is just basically the XML folder from the game with the XML files (except for the AI and ENUM folders) from Trek Wars. The AI & ENUM folders...
Recently I've released version 0.4 for Russian community and, after fixing a few critical bugs and translating the mod into English, it'll be released. By the end of the year is my estimate. If you want, you can download the current New Order v0.4 build in Russian here (mind that it is not yet fully adopted to Steam version).
Now a few words about the mod conception and features.
New Order timeline spans from the birth of the Galactic Empire in 19 BBY to Second Galactic Civil War in 40 ABY. The whole timeline is divided into 6 eras of the mod (replacing 5 tech levels of the vanilla) with the 6th era currently being available only in skirmish.
Galactic Empire and Alliance to Restore the Republic (New Republic and Galactic Federation of Free Alliances in later eras) are playable and CIS Remnants will become the third playable faction (for first era campaigns) in near future.
Reworked space combat - New Order Mod currently has completely reworked space combat with ships having canonical (or close to canonical) stats. The current system is 4 years old and many flaws was found in it, so it'll be reworked in 0.5 to introduce better gameplay and performance.
Reworked land combat - A few steps has been made to improve land battles, mostly the new damage system. More changes will be implemented in near future.
Reworked heroes - Some personalities greatly influenced the history of The Galaxy. It is true for New Order too. Heroes now have many bonuses that represents this hero's skills in canon. In battle hero can be skilled commander (increasing effectiveness of friendly forces) and/or skilled warrior (being more effective in combat). Some heroes perform better in some situations. I'll write more about heroes soon.
Secondary features - New graphics, new audio, new (placeholder) scenarios, small gameplay tweaks.
Launcher - Mod has it's own launcher that checks for updates, and downloads them if available.
Some plans were already mentioned above. Of course, various new units, graphic and audio improvements and other tweaks will be implemented.
Story scenarios - Scenarios, based on historical campaigns (e.g. Reconquest of the Rim, Thrawn Campaign, Operation Shadow Hand etc.) with specific era, factions, units and heroes lists, and some different rules.
Additional factions - Some scenarios will require some specific factions (e.g. Yuuzhan Vong) that will be implemented.
Expansions - Expansions will be sub-mods based on New Order, essentially large-scale story scenarios. Currently Imperial Civil War and Second Imperial Civil War expansions are in plans.
Story campaign - Campaign, showing the life of Grand Admiral Gilad Pellaeon, will be implemented in the future.
New game modes - Some people are asking for MOBA-style mode in New Order, so some R&D is in progress to make new fun game modes.
Development is very slow because of only me making mod for it's most part. Two other people in the team are minor developers helping me with conceptions and testing. If you have any useful EaW/FoC modding skills, we'll be glad to see you in our team.
Recently I've rebooted New Order forums. Now it contains English section to better accomodate ModDB auditory.
