It's finished! After lots of blood, sweat, and bugs (programming, not the living kind), our first independent project is complete. As you know, Bloodlines represents our first effort with Adam's Zol engine, so feedback would be very appreciated. Most importantly, have fun playing the game! If you have any questions about the game, be sure to check out the help file and if that doesn't answer your question, drop us a line and we'll try to help you out.

but why switching to directx? the engine is perfect!
ps: i'm stuck where you have to get a key card from the AT-AT, with hordes of soldiers coming at you. what should i do? i'm preety lost now...
Hmmm, time-wise, the basics of the engine didn't take too long, I actually had a simple, crude test engine from years ago. The tweaking and adding of various features took the most time. It uses no DLL references other than the those items that are referenced by default. The graphics are drawn using GDI calls for this game. I plan to make the next game use DirectX instead. API-wise, I use calls to gdi32, user32, olepro32, kernel32, winmm, and hhctrl. Does that answer your question?
how much time did you need to get the vb engine up? what dll's did you use?
what is it?
Thanks, yeah, the font is too small. Someone else mentioned that, too. I'll have to fix that for the next game. I thought about adding an auto or quick-save feature too late in the game to add that, but one or the other will probably make its way into the next game also.
things i like about the game:
- graphics actually ARE those of a nes game (good ol' times!)
- gameplay style
- story
- amount of puzzles
- the game is very intellingent and makes you think
things i don't like about the game:
- text font are is too small to be comfortably read
- no autosave feature
i didn't finish the game, but i'm curious about the ending and am going play through.
May the force be with you!
I certainly hope everyone is enjoying the game. Good to see a couple of comments, though it would be very helpful to hear some more feedback...we DO value your opinion! Here's a couple things I'm actually a little curious to know if someone is looking for something to say.
Has anyone:
- found something they really loved about the game?
- found something they really hated about it?
- completed the game (on any mode)?
- discovered secret areas in any levels?
- discovered the secret level?
- unlocked any of the "secret gameplay modes"?
These are some design specific things I'd really like to hear from players about, so if you read this and have played and have a minute on your hands, feel free to post here!
@MasterModder123: Hmm, well, first, did you get Han from the ewoks? You should have the laser welder by the time you rescue him.
Where does one find the Laser Welder to fix the X-Wing?
