Star Wars Battlefront gives you the chance to play as a soldier in intense multiplayer battles with up to 32 people. Choose your allegiance and pick a soldier from one of four different armies. Fight on ten legendary planets and use a variety of weapons and vehicles, including X-wings, snowspeeders and AT-ST's. Keep your wits about you and victory may be within your reach. Experience the chaos of battle as you fight the greatest wars in the Star Wars universe.

In addition to the single-player and various multiplayer modes offered in Star Wars Battlefront, a unique "Conquest" mode adds an innovative and strategic gameplay element to the action. After each battle is completed and the planet is conquered, the winning team will be rewarded with a special "bonus" ability that can be deployed in future battles in an attempt to take over the Star Wars galaxy planet-by-planet.

About Battlefront One and a Half (1.5) era mod (v 1.1) with 1 comment by jdee/barc on Aug 23rd, 2011

As I'm writing this I'm beginning to finish up the next version of this era mod. Bugs have been mostly fixed from the last version along with new features implemented

-Multiplayer available for era mod maps (except wave mode maps as those are meant for single player only
-New maps Included
--Dathomir
--Space Naboo
--Space Coruscant
--Space Endor
--Korriban

-Sides changes:
--I merged the Commando units with sniper units and also created another sniper class, a stealth unit
--I changed the layout of the droids a bit
--Starfighters now move faster and can do sharper turns
--The Republic Gunship now has a turret at the back as well
--I couldn't stand the look of the BF2 hovertank for the rebels/militia, so I gave them a new vehicle: a Modified Combat Speeder

Anyone who grew up with the original movies has been waiting for a chance to play a game like battlefront since they were kids.

Jumping into an A-wing or an AT-AT is awesome. The novelty of playing in settings from the new movies is not at all compelling...who wants to be a dumb robot?

Anyway, I think a few flaws that make the moment to moment gameplay frustrating could be fixed by a clever modder (which I am not). Those flaws are:

A) Blasters are TERRIBLE! Change them so that they are more accurate and actually hurt someone! More deadly grenades, sniper rifles, etc would help too!

B) AT-AT's should kill A-Wings with one hit. Also, the lazers on the AT-AT travel at about the speed of a bag of jello rather than the speed of LIGHT!

C) More server options such as limited number of jet-packers,etc.

That would be enough...but other improvements could include:

D) Endurance meter to remove unlimited diving/jumping

I liked this game a LOT more than Battlefield, just because of the bots. The bots in Star Wars are lousy, but they're still much better then Battlefield.

Also being able to drive a huge walking mech scores points for this one.

I dont think this game is as bad as Tei said. Sure, they have some work to do, but its still a fun game.
Pros:
-Has the Star Wars look and feel. Most of the units are right from the movies
-Great Graphics
-The maps that are included are great

Cons:
-Needs a level editor. I'd wait about 3 months and someone in the star wars community will release one if Lucas Arts doesn't
-Should have come with more maps. I feel sorry for people who got the console version if it came with the same maps.

Overall, I'd say its great. It gets boring if you play it too much, but even that could be fixed.

It wasn't supposed to emulate 1942, retard. It's STAR WARS Battlefront, emulate nothing, just kick ***. And yes there is lvl editors out there, just not on this site. As for the bugs, what game doesn't have bugs? And besides, these bugs are the kind that are minor enough that they grow on you. This is pretty much a CULT video game. You aren't required to like it, but if you are getting these problems as a result of your obvious piracy, it's nobody's fault but your own. NONE FOR YOU!
