Hello Star Wars: Battlecry fans and Happy Star Wars day!

It’s been exactly one year from our announcement that we are moving to the epic Unreal Engine 4. A lot has changed since you first started witnessing our progress and watching everything slowly take shape.

Because it’s May the 4th as you already know, we think that this is a great moment to celebrate and reward your great support over the years with something special. We’ve put a lot of work on this and hopefully you will like it.

It’s time for our first gameplay video showing what we’ve been up to in Unreal Engine 4. Keep in mind that this is in a heavy WIP stage and a lot of things are missing. Everything you see is subject to change. So take this more as a proof-of-concept, the rest will be filled, polished and tweaked as we continue to make progress.

Now a few screenshots taken during our gameplay and the video itself.

Enjoy and may the Tr4iler be with you.

Just a quick question, do you plan on releasing an SDK and making this opening source for the community? And would you be fine with other people creating mods for this once it's released?

I remember reading somewhere last year that modding would be encouraged. I could be mistaken though.

Yes we probably will release an editable version(if we can) of the game and now with the UE4 being free it will be easier to distribute it without the need to make custom editor. Source code we haven't decided if we will include yet but even without it people can make blueprint scripts and maps using the content made and even import their own content.

Why don't you just release a version that runs in the unreal engine so basically what I mean is release the game in the engine that can be used to import stuff into the game.

They have already stated that it will be free for legal reasons. If they did charge for it, it would have a very large chance to be taken down.

Correct, we face legal issues should there be profits involved. It will be entirely free to play. There will be no need for any purchases to play the game. When it is ready, you can simply download it and enjoy.

Bots were in their plans a while back I assume there has been no change they also said it might be a while before they were added.

That would be great if we could have bots in the first release if possible, then people could learn the maps offline better, but also i am not online very much but i want to play this

I agree but creating the AI for bots takes time and energy which is being used in making the game playable I am shure they will add them as soon as they can. The first release will consist of one map more will come later, and faster then this map because they will have the gameplay done, that means all they would really need are new animations, they also said that they could expand this map to test space ships when they got it working.
