Hello once again Star Wars: Battlecry fans!

Today we're posting a quick update to let you know about the great progress we've been making on Cloud City (as well as new sound effects – Richard Goulet is responsible for creating these epic sounds - concepts and new/improved 3D models).

On top of this, we want to take a minute to mention our awesome new partnership with BlackIntel, who are letting us use their servers and storage! They are a great bunch of people and we highly recommend you check them out. More info on this partnership will be released at a later date.

Regarding the First Strike merge, we now have everything set up to ensure that assets from the First Strike and Battlecry teams is all in one place. We are still in the process of evaluating First Strike assets and getting the usable ones ready for UE4. This will take some time, especially as many team members have been very busy with other commitments. Things are moving in the right direction, however!

So, without further ado, it’s time to show you guys some progress:

As you can see above, a lot of work has been done trying to get the lighting in the Carbon Freezing Chamber as atmospheric as possible (Joseph Greve, Ande and Sharky have been the main contributors to this part of the level). On top of that, a lot of effort has gone into creating high quality props and textures: this level of detail is exactly what we're aiming for. Other areas such as the residential area have also been worked on and are coming along nicely!

Above is our re-worked and improved Rebel Trooper model by Ande. We have tried to go for a very detailed look, consistent with many of our other quality 3D models. Once we have the vast amount of First Strike models imported into UE4, we can begin to take what the First Strike team has done and build upon it, ensuring we get the most out of the powerful new UE4 features.

Member Thomas Woodward started work on a fantastic Imperial Probe Droid for us a few months ago but now you can see his latest progress.

In case you're wondering where the team is at with regard to our menu concepts and HUD designs, due to several brand new features making their way into the latest version of UE4, we've decided to come up with several fresh and exciting ideas. We won't be revealing too much of this at this time as they are still conceptual (and we've shown enough WIP menu/HUD concepts for now!) but we'll keep you updated.

In Alpha,Hoth Map.People Should Be Able To Spawn in {Imperials} Destroyers{Imperial Star Destroyer,Then They Should Fly To Ground Then get out of vehicle to kill/defeat Rebels.} Or,they should be spawn in Escape Pods At Star DDestroyer,then star destroyer should send/throw them to ground so they will start to play}.

This would delay the alpha somewhat, but we are thinking big in the long run.

I would like to warn you that you must tread carefully, a fan base like ours created a fan-made version of monkey island, one of LA's games as a non-profit game and were given a cease and desist order by Disney. It seems disney is on the prowl against such actions and I urge you to keep a watchful eye on your content etc.

A very small question: Battlecry is there a "continuation" of Batllefront or it is a new gameplay ?

The gameplay will generally be 'classic' Battlefront, but any additions/changes we make will make sense to players and won't turn the game into another generic CoD clone. :-)

al i have to input on that regard is kill streaks will kill the game. . .that system punishes newer players too much imo. . .the point system in bf2 i felt did a good job, it just needed a little more diversity than it had, maybe even be more standard, it just didnt feel quite right havng options to use certain units in certain places, and the bothan was not blalanced well in it, one thing i would like to know as soon as its decided is the units accross the board like, assault, heavy, sniper, engi, special 1, 2, 3, or even like assault medic, assault operative, heavy demoition, heavy munitions expert, sniper marksman, sniper recon, engineer pilot/driver/mechaninc, engineer support troop. . .totally random ideas im graspin at here but knowing units sorta in that fashion would be awesome. . .and pehaps add special units to the 2 per troop category thing maybe :P either way ideas and would love to know unit developments. . .till next update (and before it :P) GL guys!

We don't have a set date for now. We're expecting to get a lot of work done this summer. We know a lot of you guys are waiting patiently for the alpha but the last thing want is to give you something that feels rushed. We want to create the nostalgia we feel when play the originals and it'd be an artistic disservice to us and you guys if we didn't take the time to make things up to par.

Cool Game,I will download it when it will be Released :).You guys should do 1 Beta Release In My Opinion and then you guys should keep on working then release alpha Version.Why Not Posting Videos At Youtube So We Can see Things In Game Etc..
