Excalibur breaks the mould of traditional space simulation games by putting the player firmly in the boots of an experienced Starfleet captain. From the outset you will be able to control your character and command your ship as if you were standing on the bridge yourself. From taking direct control of the helm, to transferring command of any ship in your task force, or even calling your senior staff to the briefing room to discuss mission tactics; Excalibur is the most immersive Star Trek experience ever. Set six months after the events in Star Trek: Nemesis, Excalibur's story mode deals with the turbulent political scene caused by a decade of war and turmoil. From the second Borg incursion in First Contact, to the fall of the Dominion and the collapse of the Romulan political system; these events resulted in huge loss of life and changed the Alpha Quadrant forever.

Subscribe to their Youtube channel for updates and stop complaining, you act like they owe it to you to post updates, they don't owe you or anyone else anything.

These guys are making this game for people in their own time at no expense to you or anyone else waiting for it, they're the ones paying for the software and the electricity bills, asking nothing in return, the least you could do is give them a break and have a bit more patience.

The game is pretty much shelved I did check their website, no more quick battle, their main people quitting the project likely got bored of it and wasn't going to get finished so saved themselves some major heart ache and left for something more greener.

These guys dont owe me anything but that doesn't mean they dont deserve some critisism for letting this project pretty much just be a dream and nothing more. You dont highlight a project like they have across multiple platforms only to have it on the shelf doing nothing for a decade pretty much.

I will just be leaving this altogether this was nothing but pure hype no action.

I will stick with klingon academy and bridge commander likely all we will ever get.

It's not going to happen what they are dong is just doing stupid episodic releases because they couldn't make this project happen like they promised. You will be waiting forever to get the game they claimed to be making. Why they set for such a huge goal is beyond me even triple a devs have not done what they promised to do so why people thought they were gonna be the ones to do it is pretty stupid.

Finally someone sees my point thank you.

I'd like for a petition to have this game removed from this site unless a game has a reasonable release date it shouldn't even be listed that goes for all projects that have been on this site for years with next to no real updates or progress it's just wasting space.

Darn, really wanted to play this game when it was finished, but it appears to be lacking Linux native support (the SteamOS Linux variant would be fine also).

I imagine by now that this engine is extremely old and likely newer engines that could have made this game happen much sooner but they kinda screwed themselves.

They're asking for 50 dollar donations (Almost the price of a AAA title) to get into the closed alpha, stating the CBS and the Star Trek affiliates have gave their game the "go ahead"? What they have so far is BC1 with the KM mod, and a few newly modeled ships and stations. Many of the textures and models are EXACTLY the same as in BC1. Including the scripted ship movements. Yes, if they can implement those features, good on them. But from what they've shown so far, they're no where near completing any of those things.

Personally I think its much too early to start asking for donations to get into an alpha game without any of the major listed features. I'd much rather give donations to Excalibur because I can see their progress, and what they've been doing. Their videos, screenshots, and logs all show the growth of the game. However I am unable to donate to them because its under the Star Trek name. Hm... go figure.

I agree on the price they are expecting for a donation...I dont donate to projects like this that you never know will even be complete. I can see 10 bucks maybe but until I know it's gonna be what they said what it will be not gonna touch it.

Donating early allows the devs to implement the promised features because they can use the money for hardware, software and maybe some paid staffing and to get the game out quicker. They haven't shown much of the game but you don't know they haven't added the features.

after this long who really cares no mod takes 10 years to even become playable at a demo level. I think they reached way above their ability to actually deliver.

Cool they are fans of star trek bridge commander since so far thats all it looks to be why not just first work on something people can play and give some feed back?

No, I haven't seen if they've added the features yet or not. True. And I probably won't get to because I don't plan on donating to a cause without some type of proof. However, if I were a game designer, and I was implementing those great features- in order to sell the game or get some income coming in, the first thing I'd do is release a video or some screen shots of the work that I've done. I'd blast it everywhere I could. I would be excited to show it. I would get the fans excited. However what they've shown leads me to question the integrity of the game as a whole. IMHO it looks like BC1 with a few new models and textures. That's it. I already have BC on my desktop as I speak.

Don't get me wrong, I've backed a lot of games up. Games like Carmageddon Reincarnation, Spin Tires, and Space Engineers- but the difference is, is when I get onto their page -BAM- the proof is right there in my face and I get excited, I want to buy.

Well it's their first game so they don't have much experience with PR, but I'm confident that they can make a good Star Trek game they have the programming and art know-how, and I love Star Trek I had to donate.

If you donate a certain amount you can get in on the upcoming closed beta and you can see the features for yourself.

Any AAA professional video game studio showcases all of the games features so I understand what your saying and that's how they sell the game successfully, they just need more experience with PR.

lol not donating just to play a beta version of the game...should not be asking for money just to play thats stupid if they wanted money then they should have asked to be part of an official dev team that is making an official star trek product.

I doubt this will ever be released anyways.

Apparently you also lack experience with PR since it is generally frowned upon to advertise yours or someone elses products on a (sub)site dedicated to a another product, especially one with a similar premise. Thank you for your understanding.

lets see....it's been a very long time since you even posted any updates on here and got nothing to show...whats the point of this project if no one ever sees anything on it?

No playable quick battle or anything after this long?

I think you guys are just screwing with us.
