A group of stalkers, for the first time, reaches the very heart of the Zone-the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant-and triggers a cataclysm on the brink of a catastrophe. An immense blast of anomalous energy transforms the Zone: the once reliable and relatively safe roads are no longer so, the landscape is wiped clean by outbursts of anomalies, and previously unknown areas appear on the Zone map. Stalkers and expeditions perish or end up isolated within the lost territories.

Post tutorial Report RSS how to include mods into S.T.A.L.K.E.R. clear sky

this is steps for people who dont know how to include mods into the game

Posted by on - Basic Starting a mod

1. first go to your clear sky directory for example like mine is: D:\Program Files\Deep Silver\S.T.A.L.K.E.R. - Clear Sky

2. create a new file called: gamedata (note it must be gamedata not separated like: game data).

3. download your mod and extract it (most of the time) using programs like winrar (you can use the trial version).

4. note that most of the time after you extract the mod you will have a file called gamedata, now open the file and copy the subfolders and then paste it into the gamedata file you created earlier.

5. if assuming you have other mods(other subfolders in gamedata), you can avoid overwriting it by just copying the contents into the subfolders.

example: i have a new mod with a config subfolder but i have an older config subfolder already. so i just open the new config subfolder and copy the contents and place it into my old config file with the other mod. you know what i mean, just place both together in one place.

6. if the contents in the subfolder has the same name and requires overwriting, please refer to my other tutorial on editing mods(not yet done).

7. now the important part (skip this if you have done it before), now go back to the clear sky directory and look for a file called fsgame.ltx
and open it using notepad. look for:

$game_data$ = false| true| $fs_root$| gamedata\

and change it into(save it when closing the notepad):

$game_data$ = true| true| $fs_root$| gamedata\

8. congratulations, you have just included a mod into stalker clear sky, thats not so hard was it? fire up your game and see if the mods are included, if not trace back your steps and see what you have done wrong.

9. enjoy your game

I want to ask a question that adding mods in game does not create errors? Because game's basic programming is effected?

u add the mods before starting the game, adding mods while in game will surely create errors, mods will sometimes conflict with other mods, so its trial and error, remember to create a lot of save games especially before adding a mod

I have 2 mods one is the helios spawning thing and one is total faction warfare. Helios is supposed to work with any other mod but I don't understand how I can have both working with eachother. They are both in their own gamedata folders but each time I want to have 2 gamedata folders in my main directory it tells me that I must overwrite the files. Please get back to me as soon as you can (meaning please message me)

I added mod SRP 1.1.2 and I am having a hard time finding out how to add Arsenal Overhaul 1_2 without replacing the files that SRP 1.1.2 has. Can anyone give me instructions. I checked all over online and youtube but none help when it comes to combining mods.

So i want to start to mod STALKER my self, nothing to big just small UI changes. if you can help me or let me know what I have to learn and what files I'm going to have to mess with that would be great. The things I want to do...

1. I DL'ed and installed a fix for the way items look in item screen (pistols/rifles with suppressor are misaligned) but i did it over "Custom mod: CS AO + Complete" and now the clock that appears when you bring up inventory above minimap in left hand corner now appears OVER the minimap in the lower left corner. There are other few icon changes that stayed even AFTER reverting back to original files that I can live with but the clock is something I want/need to change as I do use it quite a bit. How to go about this?

2. I know other mods include this but I want to keep "Custom mod: Clear Sky Arsenal Overhaul + Complete mod" but I want to get rid of the grenade warning icon. How to do this?

3. Not really a necessity but I would like to move the minimap to the UPPER left hand corner when in gameplay.

4. This I REALLY want to do but not at the top of my list. If it's too much trouble I can live with the way it is now. I would like to get rid of the info pop up just by hovering the mouse over an item. If I remember correctly in SoC you click once on an item to see info and double click to move. If that's not the way it was in SoC this is the way I'd like it anyway.

Thanks in advance.

I installed the mod and I can "start" a game, but when it is about to load into the actual gameplay it crashes after "synchronizing". any ideas as to why?
