Call of Pripyat takes you once again into the vicinity of the Chernobyl nuclear reactor that exploded in 1986. This so-called "Zone" is a highly contaminated area cordoned off by the military and now is combed through by the so-called stalkers, modern fortune hunters, in search of unique artifacts. In the role of Agent Alexander Degtyarev, who is dressed up as stalker, you have to investigate the mysterious disappearance of five military helicopters and thereby stand one’s ground against the various stalker groups.

S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Call of Pripyat: Redux v2.0

Mission Competition Results

Introduction:

It's taken a bit longer than I expected (real life has a habit of getting in the way!) but it's time to announce the results of the Redux v2.0 Mission Competition!

I received a lot of excellent entries during the course of the competition which have also sparked a lot of ideas in the minds of the development team! Thank-you to all who entered, your participation is greatly appreciated! I also hope you had a bit of fun coming up with ideas!

Results:

First Place: Etcetera

Etcetera's multiple submissions all managed to capture the essence of a great CoP side-mission.
Simple but creative, his grand total of twelve entries were a joy to read, from small 'kill X' missions to a grand adventure with Awl and Petruha. There will definitely be a few of these little gems in Redux v2.0.
Well done Etcetera!

Second Place: dogmachines

Dogmachine's entry really caught my imagination - fleshing out the story of General Tachenko and his squad, eternally caught in a Space Anomaly. Wouldn't it be better to actually enter the anomaly yourself and experience what those men experienced themselves? I definitely think so, and I'm going to try my best to make that happen!
Well done Dogmachines!

Third Place: Muukis

Muukis' three entries are extremely detailed, right down to the loadouts of each character involved, rewards/penalties, and even little sections with potential problems and their solutions for each mission! From developing Magpie's storyline to a superb Mercenary-focused mission, Muukis has come up with some great ideas and put them forward in a very developer-friendly presentation.
Well done Muukis!

Honourable Mention: Kali Ajaye
Kali's entry deserves high praise as a lot of effort has clearly been put into it. Three to four pages of colour co-ordinated detailed mission description testify to that!

The winners will receive their prizes as soon as Redux v2.0 enters the appropriate stage of testing.

Thanks to everyone for participating!

Other News:

In other news, I recently uploaded a video demonstrating the Redux Magazine System, implemented into v2.0. If you haven't seen it, take a look! We're very proud of what's in store for you guys.

Obviously the system is still a work-in-progress, but will be fully functional and possess a number of options for customisation by the time of the mod's release.

That's all for now folks, keep checking back for updates!
